18.01.2022 Black coffee drinkers rejoice! Boana is a PNG single-origin that grabbed my attention as soon as I lifted the bag from our delivery from @omarcoffeebird. It lifted me right out of the covid-19 fog brain and reminded me of how amazing the coffee we have access to actually is. . "Woah... Hugh. Smell that. Is that truffles?" .... And the next day, as i pulled Boana into a double, the earthy savoury smells confused me . "That's... oolong tea." Andy from Omar popped in later and we drank another round of espresso. We talked a bit about coffees from South East Asia and how volatile but amazingly complex they can be. Some of the conversation went like this : "Sumatra." "Exactly." "Humidity right?" "Yep." . . Esoteric utterances aside, this single origin is amazingly complex, earthy, sweet and floral. Drink it as espresso, grab some for filtering at home, this is one tasty cup.
