15.01.2022 Awareness for diabetes week.

13.01.2022 Well all done ready for the final fit. These are for a young man who has arthrogryposis which means his feet were very deformed. Due to attempts to surgically straighten his feet they now are fixed in the position you see the casts are in. He doesn’t weight bear and is wheelchair bound. Instead of making footwear that follows the shape of the small foot on a normal sized young man I developed this solution. This is my attempt to make custom orthopedic footwear not ugly.

08.01.2022 Started this week with some very cool splints (well I think so). These have just come together really well and I like the tartan transfer design. I also had some left over blue leather which has made the straps stand out. The sole position is in 11 degrees tibial shank vertical angle which is an Elaine Owens method being put into practice.

04.01.2022 Couldn’t get away with changing the foot shape to much this time. These are to be worn with shorts and exposed legs so the shoe size had to reduce. The clients legs are thin and we were keen to avoid clown shoes or flippers. The question is though would you have chosen this colour?

01.01.2022 Happy Friday fun day!!!! I would like to enter the weekend with a mystery question. I had to make this protective device for a rare condition and as you can see from the transfer it’s for a infant. The question is what part of the body is this being used for?
