25.01.2022 Next in my series of artist portraits is this of friend Ric Abel. A former Kiwi, Ric is well known for his former Bohemian Restaurant/Music venue, Artichoke, in... Manly as well as for a series of paintings featuring pencil nosed Mr Squiggle inset into various famous artworks. He is seen here, with model, in his Robertson studio, a former Potato shed. 23.01.2022 Some pics of the crowd at the opening, last night, at United Culture’s new gallery space in Bowral, of Andrea Boltresz’s amazing exhibition. Named Home it shows Southern Highlands views in a new and unique way. Many sold on the first night!

18.01.2022 These are iPhone pics of an art cleaning job which I have only just completed. About 30 hours of cleaning was all it took to bring this family treasure back to life. I have yet to apply a matte varnish and to return it to it’s original frame.

16.01.2022 Andrea Boltresz at the opening of her fantastic exhibition last night at United Culture’s new gallery space in Bowral, with partner Paul Tinslay. Named Home, it shows many views of the Southern Highlands in a new and unique way. Congratulations Andrea, red dots abounded!

15.01.2022 Taken only two weeks ago in South East Queensland, this picture is of dear friend Carlos Barrios, Artist. Originally from El Salvador but resident in Australia for many years, he now exhibits in major galleries in all the eastern states of Australia (and Canberra).

12.01.2022 These are as good a before and after for the painting in my previous post as I can offer. I had already done a number of hours cleaning this when I thought to make a record of the progress. The colours are as accurate as iPhone and Facebook technologies can offer.

12.01.2022 I recently spent well over 100 hours cleaning and restoring this beautiful painting. Scandinavian in origin from 1892, it had hung over a fireplace for many yea...rs with the consequent damage and discolouration. The canvas had also been punctured and very badly repaired, then touched up hideously. Approximately 20% of the surface had to be completely repainted and minor colour retouching was done to about 10% more. My client was very happy with the result and now we need to decide on a new frame for it. See more

10.01.2022 I found this pic of American friend Bob Wischnia (Wish), then editor of Runners World International magazine, hidden in the middle of a shoot we did together fe...aturing the M.P. Andrew Peacock in about 1981. Also remembered that Andrew had to sit on Bob’s lap for the short trip to the shoot location because the back of my vehicle was full of gear and he (Andrew) had recently crashed his car (coincidentally, also a Lancia HPE). 09.01.2022 Last Night the SHAC (Southern Highlands Artists Collective) celebrated it’s official opening. Tim Olsen is seen here addressing the 500 strong audience as he d...eclares the SHAC open for business. Festivities included live music at several points, raku pottery firing, local wines and beer, a celebrity auction, a live painting demonstration and a mountain of goodwill and support ... all in all a magical evening.
