21.01.2022 We recently completed this music studio in Joslin. It is the most serene and stunning stand-alone building. Perched above the River Torrens. We are so proud of this one! Here’s the story behind the building written by the owner It started as a man shed at the bottom of my property which is over 100m yards long and the back fence looks out over the linear park. The very first thoughts were that I should simply, one weekend, stroll into a Stratco home improvement store an...d check out their range of upmarket sheds. If I were a New Zealander as well as male, then I would be looking to construct a Batch , which is the generic term for a bachelor pad or if it is by the coast, a beach shack. However chatting one day as we went up one of the many cycling trails around Adelaide my cycling buddy a feisty architect, suggested that I could do better. She created a space that she called the music studio (as music is my spare time passion). However the next major hurdle was to find a builder. I approached several and all were shell-shocked by the apparent problem of ‘access’. This was to be a stand alone building, quite substantial in fact: 9 m by 10.4 m way down the back of the property and looking out over the linear park in Joslin. It had a large open space and as well a kitchenette and wet area. Obviously we were not dealing with a clean, cleared block with street frontage. To add to the headaches there was the problem of supplying utilities (power and sewer) which would require a deep and long trench as well as a sump pump. The several builders I approached for a quote, were, to not put too fine a point on it, less than enthusiastic about my project, and in their minds eye all they saw were irritating obstacles, but Ryan from Cut Once Building came along and all he saw were challenges to be overcome. I immediately knew that he was passionate professional and more importantly genuine. I am after this positive experience with Ryan and CutOnce Building, now able to express the qualities that made my project dare I say it ‘enjoyable’. I shall simply list them Ryan, the owner and obviously project manager, turned up on site on day 1 for the pouring of the foundations and the basic structural carpentry and from then on was frequently on site for the initial build, which gave me great peace of mind He communicated effectively and truthfully. Deliveries and trades people turned up when he said they would. If there was a delay or hiccup, he told me beforehand In my opinion, a building company Is only good as the subcontractors and Ryan has a loyal committed team who were just as professional as he was, including plumbers, electricians, tiling, cabinet and joinery and painters. So thank you to the team that is CutOnce Building for a job well done.

17.01.2022 Mount Barker ~ It has been an absolute pleasure to bring this clever, sophisticated and considered design to life. We fell in love with this project over the course of the construction. Designed by @energyarchitects the building is not only incredibly beautiful but functional and energy efficient. It moulds around three 150 year old gum trees and we love how the natural landscape has been preserved on this site. Beyond the trees, there is a staggering view of the lush Adelai...de Hills. A private retreat, nestled amongst nature. What a peaceful place for our clients to enjoy for many, many years to come.

16.01.2022 It’s hard to get a good photo of a lot of the good work we do. But here are some pictures of our latest Glenelg project. Just 3 weeks ago there were 3 bricks walls splitting this big open space. 7 days ago we poured the concrete pad for the extension, today we got it locked up and water tight. I am very proud of the boys and excited to post some finished photos of this beautiful old home.
