12.01.2022 Business Alert at 9:00am With CVA - Good news for Superannuation The recently introduced catch-up for concessional contribution (CC) could be more than $25,000 in this 2020 year. Basically under the new concession, any unused CCs cap amount for 2019, can be carried forward. For example, where an eligible individual only used $10,000 of their CCs cap for the 2019 income year, they will have $15,000 unused and that $15,000 can now be carried forward and added to the 2020 CCs ca...p of $25,000 which effectively means they now have $40,000. This is an example only. There are certain conditions that need to be met which we would be happy to discuss with you but this is good news for those of you who can see a way of benefiting from this introduction. We look forward to discussing this with you in more detail.

01.01.2022 Business Alert at 9:00am With CVA - Asset Write-off Warning The Australian Taxation Office has cautioned businesses against taking advantage of the expanded asset write-off scheme. We're asked by the ATO to follow the tax law, but to also follow the spirit of the law as there won't be a lot of sympathy for businesses seen to be exploiting loopholes. Use it for what it's meant to be used for; investing in your business to assist in economic growth.... Always best to play it safe, do the right thing & call us if you're not sure. As you know we're here to support you & your business. We drew inspiration for this article from Jotham Lian at Accountants Daily

01.01.2022 Business Alert at 9:00am With CVA - ATO says thanks The ATO has heaped praise on accountants and bookkeepers for supporting clients through this pandemic. It has been and continues to be a very stressful time so it's nice to hear that the Tax Office hasn't underestimated the impact of COVID-19 on our profession.... Staying on top of government stimulus packages and how each and every one of our clients can access the help they need has been a massive undertaking so like everyone, it's nice to feel appreciated. Remember to take the time to appreciate your team and your support network, they deserve it. We drew inspiration for this article from Jotham Lian at Accountants Daily
