25.01.2022 Hi all we have ready to go Indian myna traps. We even supply enough bait to get you started. Traps are $25 plus freight. Check out our CVCIA Landcare website www.cvcia.org.au for more details

20.01.2022 INDIAN MYNA BREEDING SCHEDULE. As most will realise these birds are breeding now, each pair can produce up to 20 young per breeding season. Let's assume they ar...e slack and only produce 10. Next year those 12 birds will multiply to 60. The following year 60 becomes 300. The average flock size is 30. The 300 represent 10 new flocks searching for Indian Myna free territory to inhabit. Territory currently occupied by native birds. Trapping programs inhibit their spread big time. Every pair caught is a major blow to their numbers increasing and a strike in favour of our native birds. We need to remain vigilant and active! See more

20.01.2022 Hi neighbours keep up the good work

17.01.2022 Please be aware that we've had reports of people posing as RFS members and door knocking to raise funds fro the RFS across the Clarence Valley. Our members do not get involved in this type of activity. These people are not RFS members and should be reported to Police immediately.

17.01.2022 Well done our Sydney friends

14.01.2022 At the Big Bat and Wildlife Festival, 30 March, Maclean Showgrounds - Indian Mynas - hear what they do to our native birds and how you can help control them.

13.01.2022 Something to think about while we work and study from home. DON'T OVERLOAD POWERBOARDS | With more people working from home, avoid the risk of a fire and do no...t overload power boards. Ensure that your electrical leads are not damaged or faulty and if they are, do not use them! #PreparedForAnything #ProtectTheIrreplaceable

12.01.2022 We caught cats, snakes, toads and even a quoll but that tops us

11.01.2022 VERY HIGH DANGER RATING TOMORROW AND PERMITS SUSPENDED. Due to windy condition and parts of the valley still dry we have a very high danger rating. With winds ...up to 25km/h, a temp of 30 and RH of 29. All permits are suspended. We recommend you review your Bushfire Survival Plan and monitor fires on our app fires near me for fires that pop up in your area. If you see a fire unattended by fire fighters please immediately call 000 as time matters.

07.01.2022 There is another side to the CVCIA myna group. We operate a small trap building program with Nortec Employment Services. When we first started they were building traps for local use but we soon had sufficient for our program and rather than stop what was a successful operation. To date Nortec volunteers have built over 400 traps most of which have been on sold to trappers outside our area. They go as far as Nth Qld and Victoria but mostly to the east coast of NSW and south east Queensland. If you know of any one wanting a trap for a very reasonable price please have them contact us.

06.01.2022 CHRL are recruiting volunteer Common Myna trappers.

03.01.2022 Tuesday this week we placed our recently finished aviary Indian Myna trap at the CV Regional Landfill site. Today we removed and euthanised 15 trapped Myna birds. Not a bad for just 48 hours. The photos are not great but we had to empty it before the tip closed, more details to follow

02.01.2022 If you have Indian Mynas we have plenty of traps

02.01.2022 Nearly at the end of another year's trapping, thanks to all those involved through out the Clarence Valley. Trapping tally for the year is over 1200 birds and the total since we officially commenced trapping for Clarence Valley Council is over 12,000 birds. Not bad for a small group of volunteers.
