25.01.2022 Please share if you know an amazing person that wants to join the CVC team in Rocky!

25.01.2022 TAVI Co-ordinator Wendy speaks about TAVI St Andrews War Memorial Hospital which is performed by Dr Alex Incani and Dr Karl Poon.

23.01.2022 Educating staff on the latest cardiac procedures being done by the CVC Doctors is taken seriously. Well informed staff are able to correctly inform patients and ensure their journey is seamless. What our doctors are doing is pretty amazing - Impella and TAVI procedures are just two of the procedures undertaken with great results.

20.01.2022 Dr Poon does amazing work at PCH and at St Andrews War Memorial Hospital Spring Hill. A great insight into the valves we have in our hearts! Dr Karl Poon knows them both very well and can fix a broken heart! So grateful to have him as part of the amazing team of cardiologists at CVC.

16.01.2022 Our very own Dr Mahala Hudaverdi championing the cause for women and heart disease, and women in cardiology. Not all symptoms are the same for everybody. Have that chat with your GP ladies and if you are concerned ask for a referral to a CVC cardiologist.

15.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who helped us commemorate ANZAC Day 2019. The pipes and drums of Emmanuel College Highlanders at UQ led us with emotion as the flag was lower...ed by Lt Col Ian Willoughby (Retd). The 8th/9th Battalion Catafalque Party stood guard as wreaths were laid in memory of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Nurses and Medics, Padres, Veterans and Founders of this War Memorial Hospital. Moreton Bay Girls College Choir sang beautifully. Prayers were offered by The Uniting Church Moderator, Rev David Baker. Our commemorative address by Major General, Dr Paul Alexander AO (former Surgeon general ADF) was a fitting tribute to those who serve and have served. The Ode delivered by Dr Daniel Ford and Bugle of the Last Post and Rouse by Matthew Kleidon brought significance to the day. Complete with a horse and his handler from the Australian Light Horse, St Andrews provides one of the most poignant and beautiful remembrances of ANZAC Day. We hope you can join us next year.

14.01.2022 Lest we forget. The Ode. They shall not grow old,... As we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, Nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning. We shall remember them.

08.01.2022 Another great edition of Best Practice. Please have a read of the Hope for Hearts article.

05.01.2022 Great story last night! Fortunately, most patients dont need open heart surgery and are managed by Cardiologists (as opposed to cardiac surgeons, who become involved in the patient journey when surgery may be required). Only 14% of Australian cardiologists are women. CVC Cardiovascular Clinics are very fortunate to have FOUR amazing female Cardiologists with different sub-specialities - Advanced Imaging and Testing which includes Echocardiography and Stress Echos, Cardiac Electrophysiology - pacemakers and heart rhythm issues and much more. All of our cardiologists are highly qualified general clinical cardiologists which means they consult patients from across the entire Cardiology spectrum.

04.01.2022 Keeping Safe at St Andrews, thanks for your patience on arrival everyone.
