05.01.2022 Visual Arts exhibition opening night on Thursday 9 August 2018 at Western Sydney University. You are cordially invited to attend the opening of the exhibition 2...B or not to bethat is the distortion, an exhibition of works by students from Canley Vale High School, on Thursday 9 August 2018, at 5.45pm for a 6.00pm start. ‘2B or not to bethat is the distortion’..is an exhibition of works that transform reality, inviting the audience to interpret the artist’s world, leaving the viewer to construct the meaning. For art and distortion, the purpose is not to depict reality but rather create something new, interesting and meaningful. The material and conceptual transformation can begin with a 2B pencil with the artist making choices of materials and revealing intentions through a journey of practice. The role of the artist is a significant one in a contemporary society that is constantly evolving. The artist interprets the world and then slowly transmutes it, each stage becoming a snapshot of ever-changing realities, until the artwork comes to fruition. These artworks are a representation of personal transformations - the distorted reflections of the world, self and identities. VENUE The Margot Hardy Gallery, foyer of Building 23, Western Sydney University (Bankstown campus) 2 Bullecourt Avenue, Milperra Parking is available at $7.00 per day EXHIBITION CONTINUES until Friday 31 August 2018 RSVP byTuesday 7 August to [email protected].
