25.01.2022 Good results for our first and second XI sides over the weekend! Blistering knocks from Sweety and Shaban helped 2nd Grade to a massive 245 from their 40 Overs. Before a great team bowling performance headlined by Darin's 3/18 resulted in a 114 run victory. Much tighter in 4th grade where Dulash took an exceptional 6/23 on debut to restrict Whitfords to 158. A rapid 67 from Tyler and solid 31 from Jacob set up the win, with Imran hitting the winning runs with just 1 wicket ...to spare. 6th grade fought hard to go down by 3 wickets in the 3rd last over, while our 7th Grade and One Day 2's sides had a more forgettable afternoon. Looking forward to another good week on the track as our grade sides prepare for the first 2-dayer of the season!

18.01.2022 Good weekend of results for the club with wins from 3 out of 4 games! Congratulations to all the top scorers and wicket takers who have started the new year well. It is great to see our 2nd grade, 4th grade and 7th grade sides all in the top 4 at this time in the season, with 7th grade currently sitting 8 points top. Good start to the year, let's keep it going Redbacks!

18.01.2022 Mixed results over the weekend, with our 2nd Grade and 7th Grade sides picking up strong wins. With 3 of our 4 sides currently in the top 4 the race for finals is well and truly on! Congratulations to Shaban for his 63, as well as Sweety with 4/21, and Saad for taking 2/21 in his first grade debut. Another impressive half century from Kyle helped 7th grade to victory after Elijah took 3/20, a personal best bowling performance at CVPCC. Well done to all the run scorers and wicket takers over the weekend, enjoy your long weekend and be ready for a big February of cricket as we look to feature prominently in March!

18.01.2022 It is with regret the Club advises of the passing of former president Britt Bailey on the 29th June 2020 after a long battle with illness. He was 57. Britt joined the then WAIT Cricket Club in 1982/83 and ended up playing 174 games for the club. He scored 4010 runs with a highest score of 111* in 3rd grade against Swanbourne 1995/96. Bowling wise he was a bit more circumspect with three wickets, two of them coming in his best bowling figures of 2/19. He also managed to ho...ld on to 34 catches, including the winning catch of our 2004/5 6th Grade premiership. Off the field he spent many years assisting the club in both official and unofficial ways, including captaincy, general committee stints and executive roles as Vice President in 1983/84, Secretary in 1996/97 and President 2006/07. Past team mates and friends are invited to join us in a celebration in the enjoyment he brought to our lives- intentionally or otherwise this Friday 7th August from 6pm at an old stomping ground, the Como Hotel 243 Canning Hwy, Como.

11.01.2022 This round sees Alex Anastastakis reach 200 Games for Curtin Victoria Park Cricket Club. Alex started with the then Curtin Cricket Club in 1988 as a fresh faced 17 year old yet to learn minor details of life such as how to put petrol into a car, what sort of petrol should be put in a particular car or how to change a tyre (or for that matter that you don’t leave the flat on the side of the road for somebody else to collect). In fairness, some of these life skills still evad...e him. The road to 200 games has been long, thanks to stints in Melbourne, England and hospital (seriously, out for half a season due to trying to step on a cockroach and missing, leading to torn ankle tendons is not the worst injury to have befallen him). Off the field he has had various stints in working for the club in both an official and unofficial capacity, including Treasurer in 1998/99. When on the field, he has made 3605 runs, with a highest score of 107 made against Tuart Hill (North Perth) in 9th Grade 2013/14, on top of 105 also against Tuart Hill in 2012/13. There’s also a 99* against Whitfords in 2014/15. Predominately playing as a keeper in the field, he has 187 catches against his name and more than one stumping that shows up in MyCricket. A bit quieter as a bowler he has 1.2 overs for 17 runs and a best of 0/7. As per the photo, he has a couple of premierships under his belt, including the 9th grade One Day Premiership in as skipper in 2013/14. In 2015/16 he also started what has become a rather disconcerting tradition for the senior player in a premiership that won’t be shown on this post, but will hopefully be continued by our T20 lads this weekend. 09.01.2022 Great result for 6th Grade in the opening round. Myles and Gary with solid innings before Imran took 6 with the ball! Unfortunately the only win for the round, however a good all round performance in 2nd Grade by Raman, and a quickfire fifty from Tyler in 4th grade were highlights.

01.01.2022 Last night Curtin Victoria Park Cricket Club held its Annual General Meeting. The club would like to thank the outgoing President Matthew Doyle, outgoing Treasurer Suran De Alwis, and Dane Pontague for all of the fantastic work which they have done over the past year.
