21.01.2022 Due to the uncertainty surrounding the ongoing requirement for social distancing with the current COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the regrettable decision to cancel the 2020 Development Squad activities. The heath regulations currently in place make the planning of activities, booking of facilities and acquiring the services of coaches, managers, lecturers and support staff uncertain at best. This hard decision has not been taken lightly, but we feel that it is in the best in...terests of all stake-holders that we have set objectives in these uncertain times. We look forward to seeing you all on pool deck once the pools are allowed to open and clubs are able to get their club nights and swim meets underway

18.01.2022 Additional recommendations for community sport came into effect this week (from 19 August 2020) and will remain effective for a period of six weeks (until 30 September 2020). These recommendations are as follows: Cease activities that result in the mixing of participants and staff from different regions, for example by ceasing zone, regional or state championships or competitions Cease any activities that result in overnight stays (e.g. multi-day training camps) due to in...creased risk of COVID transmission in residential-type settings with shared facilities Cease face-to-face social activities relating to community sports (e.g. award ceremonies, end-of-season social gatherings, post-training group dinners) Avoid carpools or bus travel with people from different household groups where possible; and For local activities, limit spectators to one parent only, where the child requires parental supervision during the sporting activity. Read the full letter from the NSW Chief Health Officer to community sporting organisations. Further to this, the NSW Office of Sport has created a fact sheet that provides added detail to the above recommendations. While these recommendations are not enforceable, we encourage our clubs and members to fully comply with these updated health guidelines to reduce the chance of transmission and limit the potential for the restrictions to be extended beyond 30 September 2020. As such, we ask that: Swimmers only compete at meets in their local areas Club/event organisers ensure that no out-of-area participants attend their events. For the purposes of this recommendation, 'local area' is defined by our 12 swimming association areas as follows: ACT Coast & Valley Metro North East Metro North West Metro South East Metro South West Mountains & Plains New England & North West North Coast South Eastern Southern Inland Western

04.01.2022 CVSA Championships and Entry Times Due to the errors that have taken place with Swim Central, it has come to our attention that some results from recent meets have been mixed up in Swim Central which has allowed swimmers to enter CVSA Championships where they don’t have a qualifying time. This may be evident in examples such as a swimmer’s 100m free time allowing them to enter the 200m freestyle event.... All swimmer’s entries will be checked and if a swimmer has entered an event that they do not actually qualify for they will be withdrawn and a refund is unlikely. If in doubt please check your official times prior to entering CVSA championships to determine if you do qualify through the results central database: https://www.swimming.org.au/events/results-central
