25.01.2022 So helpful advice if feeding round bales
24.01.2022 Horse owners version of a spring clean All four boys have finally been washed and groomed. Darcy had a ride on sonny and they had their first little trot together no photos as its hard to lead and take photos lol.
23.01.2022 Very interesting video
21.01.2022 What a patient horse to stand there quietly and pee in a bucket. The clip job looks amazing though but i bet their hands are sore.
21.01.2022 Nice and early start for us today. George and Macca are off to Neville show.
20.01.2022 Miss 2 and Sonny are becoming quite the little team. The last two afternoons Miss 2 has had a ride on her pony Sonny. Today we ventured out of the round yard into the big riding paddock for a mini trail ride, which even included going up and down a small dirt hill.
19.01.2022 Great way to plait if your horse has a long mane
17.01.2022 Rose had a fantastic day today at our pony club gymkhana. Lots of ribbons and lots of fun. It is safe to say that we are all exhausted and Rose is already crashed in bed. ... Now to get both Macca and George ready for Neville show in 2 weeks.
16.01.2022 One down 2 to go after lunch. George did a fantastic job today. When i work with George its not always physical, George requires more mental training than he does physical at this stage. Today was a massive mental day with a little bit of physical. Today we worked on just being relaxed, we worked on being relaxed being geared, in the round yard and being relaxed at the mounting block. The session was ended when he could stand relaxed at the mounting block while i put my foot in and out of the stirrup.
14.01.2022 Happy 31st birthday Subbie
14.01.2022 Best way to end the day. Sunset ride on this old boy. He really is worth his weight in gold
13.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning... We will remember them. Lest We Forget
11.01.2022 Don’t over complicate it. There was a time when you were just happy to ride, happy to be in the company of horses. It didn’t matter if you could execute a perf...ect shoulder in, or jump double clear round 1.20 tracks. You were just happy to have two feet in the stirrups and ears leading the way. You didn’t care about having the best tack, or the newest hi-tech breeches. An old jumper, your favourite, well worn jods and colourful half chaps did the job just fine. You didn’t spend the days between Christmas and New Year planning a heavy schedule of training sessions, clinics and competitions. You threw tinsel round your pony’s neck and went hacking with friends. The new year was just another 365 days to go riding. Don’t forget that you started this sport because you loved the animal. You loved the rush of galloping across open fields and the serenity of watching a horse quietly graze in the sun. You do this because there is nothing on this earth that makes you feel more alive than being on the back of a horse, so don’t overcomplicate it. Enjoy the little things, because one day you’ll look back and realise, they weren’t little at all.
10.01.2022 This pair are flawless
09.01.2022 So this exciting scene happened yesturday. Sonny had his very first rider. Its safe to say that my heart was beating a million miles per hour and praying that he didn't do anything silly. But in true Sonny style he was a good boy, not too sure about the child getting on but he was very calm and walked nicely with Rose.... So happy that all the long hard work is starting to pay off with Sonny.
05.01.2022 Horse 2 worked Originally saddle him up for miss 5 to work but last minute she decided she didnt want to ride, so our youngest miss 2 had a pony ride before i got on and gave him a proper work out. For our cool down miss 2 and i had an impromptu double ride. Yes i am aware that she doesnt have a helmet on but it was a spare of the moment thing and i wouldnt do it on any other horse and dont encourage not wearing a helmet.
04.01.2022 Too cute i also know a few horses that like sammiches
03.01.2022 I would like to start off by saying sorry to every one who follows this page. I know I havent posted much lately but unfortunately my family has had alot of stuff happen lately. Any way now on to something more uplifting. Today was the start of show prep for Macca and George. Both boys got a good grooming and hair stripping.... To begin them both off on the right foot they both got massaged today. Macca thoroughly enjoyed his massage and having alot of winter fluff removed. George was very tense in his poll and neck and wasnt too keen on his massage at first but soon started to relax. We are aiming for Neville show to start George off and Miss Rose has her pony club Gymkhana too. There is going to be alot of work put into both boys to get them ready.
03.01.2022 We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas for my family to yours. Hopefully tomorrow brings everything you hope for. We will see you all in the New Year. Some veey exciting things are going to be happening next year.
03.01.2022 Horse 3 Sonny was last today so we worked on leading, backing up and a bit of free lunging. He was full of go this afternoon and had a good little canter in the round yard.
02.01.2022 We are busy getting show ready here. Lots of work and the clippers are getting a serious work out. George was not impressed at having to work and be clipped. Maccas turn next... we still have alot of winter fluff to get rid of.
01.01.2022 "Am I a good rider?" she asked, pensively, sat upon her 14.2 cob, covered in poo stains that she couldn’t quite get out before her lesson, that she had persuade...d her mum to buy a year ago for just 400 as he wasn’t wanted any more. "Why do you ask that?" her instructor replied, for she knew how this young girl felt - her eyes often lingered somewhere in between her horse's ears or the other side of the school when teaching. "Because I want to be one." Her instructor pondered on this for a good few minutes, whilst reassuring the nervous cob in front, and then said: "A good rider is not someone who buys flashy horses and competes every Saturday and makes it to the top within a year. A good rider is not someone who jumps the highest jumps or owns the fastest horse. A good rider isn’t made just because they’ve been riding since they were 3. A good rider is not someone who can move their forward horse forward... No.......... A good rider is that pony clubber you see fall off every time she gets on something new, yet still gets back on with a smile on her face. A good rider is that girl who cries in the tack room because of how her horse behaved and how hard it’s been to cope watching everyone else be successful, but to her it seems like she is the only one failing, yet still rewards her horse with a treat and a smile because at least he was better than last time. A good rider is the boy with the angel horse, yet doesn’t claim any of its successes for himself. 'It was all him,' he would say, 'I just sat to it.’ A good rider listens. A good rider is soft. A good rider makes sure the horse is always happy, As a matter of fact, a good rider often has nothing to do with the riding. If you love it, and you try, and you try again, even when you fall off and it was your fault, even when people point because your seat isn’t quite as deep as they’d prefer, if you never give up, that’s what makes a good rider." by Daisy Henderson
01.01.2022 Lovely feel good story
