21.01.2022 What did CWA BOONAH ladies do on Friday the 13th of November? Well it was wool, needles, thread, bits and baubles as we gathered to finalise our yarn bombing projects to decorate our beautiful tree in Main Street, Boonah for Christmas 2020. We even had help from a cheeky little Elf. A huge big thankyou to everyone who has taken the time to be involved in this exciting venture.... Our tree will be transformed into a beautifully adorned Christmas Tree on the 26th November. So keep your eyes open as you turn into Main Street and look to the right outside Vinnie's.

21.01.2022 As a Not For Profit Organisation have you ever wondered what CWA Boonah does for our Community with the money raised when we have Cake Stalls, Raffles, Garage Sales etc. Well, here is just a sample of some of the things we use that money for. The Birthing Kits are for Mum's during that special time in their lives, the Domestic Violence Kits are for the less fortunate Women who have had to leave their homes and the Kids Kits are for the Children of those Domestic Violence families. All of the items are purchased new, gathered together into the Kits and delivered throughout the Community by our ladies on a regular basis to assist all of those in need.

09.01.2022 It was with great pleasure yesterday the 8th of September, when representatives of QCWA Boonah Branch met with ladies of the Boonah Hospital Auxiliary Committee to present them with a cheque which will go towards them purchasing a much needed electric operated bed for our Hospital here in Boonah. Our hard work doing our fund raising activities and having our Community support us at these events is so rewarding when we can help to raise the funds for these worthy causes.

06.01.2022 Today in Boonah it has been a cold and windy day, so rather than go outside to garden, I got my QCWA Cookery Book out, cranked up my oven and made these beautifully delicious Jam Drops with strawberry jam, passionfruit curd and lemon curd. No, I didn't need the recipe book to make them but thought I'd share my book with the Jam Drop recipe. I hope this makes you feel like making the good old Jam Drops in your kitchen.

06.01.2022 Citizens of Boonah and admirers of the Trees that make the High St of Boonah one of the most admired and visited streets in the Scenic Rim, South East Queensland and indeed far beyond. As you are most likely aware, the SRRC are planning to remove four of the most established trees in the very heart of our township. The stunning Leopard tree and the Evergreen Ash are not only responsible for the admired streetscape that brings many a tourist here but also contributes greatly ...to keeping the busy central area COOL for shoppers and tourists alike. The trees may be listed as invasive species but how much damage are they really doing to this area of the street. It is a contained area that can be monitored by Council and if they do present a problem in the future other options rather than removal would be seen as contributing more to our wellbeing than a shade clothed structure and sandstone seating. With rising temperatures who would be comfortable sitting there anyway! How long would it be before tourists would want to come back to .that pretty little town in SE Qld. Most t people are against the idea and many letters to the Council and Fassifern Guardian are in progress . Come join a group of concerned, and very irate citizens, at a stall to sign a PETITION TO COUNCIL and to RALLY support for further action:- WHEN SATURDAY 22nd 9am -12md and longer if needed Outside IGA/Glens Diner in the shade of those trees! Please come in any nature outfits you may have, bring placards and any soft toy animals or eye catching bric a brac that we will attach to the trees intended for the chop. Plastic (ugh) chains may appear . The Guardian has done a great job in alerting us all to the plans and is on board for the TREES. As an individual or a contact person for your group, we ask you to copy this info and send it out to your friends, members or post on facebook asap. Time is of the essence. Chris Bowman and Jane Bell and many more See more

06.01.2022 Just a reminder for BOONAH Branch CWA members. This coming Friday the 13th will be our craft day to create, make, enhance and hopefully finalise all of our handy work for our very own Tree Yarn Bombing Decoration. Also there may be some decorative additions that we can make on the day, so if you nee...d help with anything please bring it all along and we can have a fun day crafting. Even if you are not a knitter, crocheter, sewer please come as well. I'm sure we can use as many extra hands as possible. Look forward to seeing everyone. Friday the 13th at 9.00 am. See more
