25.01.2022 Afternoon ladies. What a beautiful day! I thought along with sending you some pics of my garden I could pick your brains. You can see from some of the photos I have been weeding and now want to know what plants to put in this patch in front of my bay window. It’s a rather shady spot but I’d like a bit of colour. Any ideas? The two trees that are doing reasonably well in that spot are a white lilac and a pomegranate, there a a few rosemary shrubs but they are not thriving in this spot and so will soon be relocated.

16.01.2022 I borrowed this off our Women’s Institute sisters in the UK

15.01.2022 What a great idea, learning these skills ourselves and sharing with other women promotes a ‘we can do it’ attitude.

15.01.2022 A couple of years ago at the CWA Victoria State conference a resolution was passed to demand that anti venom was kept in every hospital. This article has a lot of info in it with some pertinent information about anti venom. It’s particularly well timed as Mrs red bellied black has just slithered through my veggie patch

08.01.2022 Welcome to this week's Corona Craft brought to you by the SACWA State Handicraft Committee: We hope you are all safe and well, please look after yourselves, you...r family and friends. These continue to be worrying times. So with that in mind we are replaying a SACWA post from 29th March which focused on face masks. On the weekend I made another 30 masks to send to my work colleagues in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra, plus my son who lives in Sydney. My manager, who lives in Melbourne, ordered some online but the order was cancelled because they could not supply due to demand, I sent hers by express post yesterday! This pattern was one that I felt was the easiest to make, but I did do a couple of modifications: - I used 6 1/2 inches of elastic, instead of the 7 inches in the pattern. - I made a pocket at the top of the mask (3 x 1/2) encasing a 3 piece of pipe cleaner. I added this after Step 6 in the instructions. This then allows a better fit across the top of the nose. - It has only 2 layers of fabric, so you can add another layer of fabric if you want. https://www.deaconess.com/How-to-make-a-Face-Mask
