22.01.2022 Tonight Deb was presented with the inaugural Hypatia Award. Congratulations, Deborah! Hypatia was a philosopher, astronomer and mathematician who lived in Egypt in the 5th century. She was the first female mathematician whose life is reasonably well recorded. Hypatia was renowned in her own lifetime as a great teacher and a wise counsellor. Hence Deb’s well deserved award! (Deb’s a secondary school maths teacher whose students have achieved outstanding results!)
20.01.2022 Here is the winner of the raffle at the Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser on Friday. Jack Banks, the grandson of one of our dedicated members, was delighted to win such a fantastic bundle of goodies. Jack expressed his thanks to the Mirboo North CWA. He had a lovely time sharing the contents of his prize with his family.... Wish you’d won? Why not come to the annual event next year and try your luck?

13.01.2022 The group may not be holding regular monthly meetings at this time of CoVid-19, but the fundraising goes on! All these wonderful goodies are the prize in our Mothers’ Day raffle. Tickets, at just $1.00 each, are available for purchase at the Mirboo North Hotel. Drawn on Mother’s Day, Sunday 10 May.
12.01.2022 Monday saw the Annual General Meeting of the Mirboo North Night Owls. A new executive was elected, but as is usual with CWA, there will be loads of support from the outgoing position holders. L - R: Jillian Matties (Treasurer) Robyn Fry (Second Vice President)... Kaye Turnbull (President) Cleta Cummaudo (Vice President) Julie Parke (International Officer) Kerry Ives (Secretary) We're looking forward to a fantastic 2019. Why not join us?
09.01.2022 Due to COVID19 we are not able to hold our annual Biggest Morning Tea event to raise money for cancer research, however the Mirboo North Night Owls are still running the raffle with quite a few prizes. Tickets are available at the Mirboo North Hotel - $2 each or 3 for $5. Please help us support this worthwhile cause.

05.01.2022 Recently some of our members met to put together pamper packs. These packs contain toiletries that a patient might need if admitted to hospital and wasn’t able to take their own. The finished packs will be donated to the La Trobe Hospital Cancer Centre.
