18.01.2022 A few members of the Ashburton CWA met up with Katie Allen MP, Federal member for Higgins, this morning. Given her medical background, we proudly showed her medical gowns and trauma teddies that our members have made, not to mention knitted pouches for oil coated penguins, and delicious jams and relishes. Another reason for this meeting was for Katie to congratulate us on securing a volunteers grant. Part of this grant will enable us to buy some sewing machines to make even more medical gowns, and other community focused goods.
18.01.2022 We are so thrilled to receive a Volunteer Grant, and we can’t wait to start sewing on our new machines!

11.01.2022 It's National Volunteer Week! This years theme is "Changing Communities. Changing Lives", and that is something we strive to do in the CWA! Our CWA Ashburton members are passionate women with huge hearts, who love to make a difference in our community. This year our members have been busy: knitting teddies for children in hospital sewing gowns for nurses and doctors making and donating jam to families in need... creating comfy pouches for animals in shelters tutoring migrants in English and lots more!
