24.01.2022 CWA Crookwell Evening Branch Secretary Jeanette Painter recently presented Bigga Public School student Jacob Hogan with the Country Womens Association of NSW Southern Tablelands Group* $250 2019 Educational Grant. The Grant, presented annually, assists students from the Southern Tablelands with their education costs. It is in addition to educational grants presented by CWA Branches. 21.01.2022 The CWA Crookwell Evening Branch has three CWA cookbooks available for purchase. They include one copy of 365 Country Womens Association Favourites, which features a recipe for every day of the year. There are also two copies of Country Womens Association Cookbook 2, which includes 285 treasured recipes from CWA members. The books are $25 each, with all proceeds going to our Branch to support local community projects.... 21.01.2022 Gullen Range Wind Farm has the Evening Branch Covered thanks to $700 Grant The CWA Crookwell Evening Branch recently purchased a new marquee with the help of a $700 grant awarded by the Gullen Range Wind Farm Community Fund in its 2019/20 Funding Round. The marquee, valued at $2005, will enable the Evening Branch to carry out fundraising and catering activities in all weather conditions at large events.... Evening Branch Secretary Jeanette Painter said the Branch previously had to borrow an unbranded marquee, belonging to one of their Branch members. "On behalf of our members I would like to thank the Gullen Range Wind Farm Community Fund for their generous grant, which has helped us to purchase this wonderful new marquee," Mrs Painter said. "The marquee will provide our members with protection from the sun, rain and wind when we are undertaking fundraising and catering at large events held outdoors. "Having our branding on the marquee will also enable members of the community who wish to support our Branch to clearly identify us when we at large events with multiple stall holders. "We cant wait to use this fantastic new marquee once large community events return to normal in the wake of COVID-19."

19.01.2022 A big congratulations to founding CWA Crookwell Evening Branch Member Dorothy Brennan who is the 2020 Crookwell Citizen of the Year! Dorothy was presented with the Award at todays Local Australia Day Awards ceremony held at Crookwells Memorial Park by Local Australia Day Ambassador Susie Elelman and Upper Lachlan Shire Mayor John Stafford. She was cheered on by fellow Branch Members who were also assisting with catering for the Australia Day event.... Congratulations Dorothy! Country Womens Association (CWA) of NSW

17.01.2022 Evening Branch Gets Tech Savvy thanks to Veolia Administration and fundraising tasks just got easier for members of the CWA Crookwell Evening Branch thanks to a $1,000 donation from the Veolia Mulwaree Trust. Awarded under Round 2 of the Trusts 2019 Donation Program, the donation has allowed the Branch to purchase a new laptop computer and printer.... Evening Branch Secretary Jeanette Painter said previously members used their own, older computers and printers at their own expense. "On behalf of our members I would like to thank the Veolia Mulwaree Trust for their generous donation, which has allowed us to to purchase these wonderful new resources," Mrs Painter said. "Access to a reliable computer and printer will enable our members to undertake our work in the community with greater ease and efficiency."

17.01.2022 Return and Earn and Help the CWA Evening Branch From now until the end of November, the Return and Earn station located at Crookwell IGA Plus Liquor will be accepting donations for the CWA Crookwell Evening Branch. The Evening Branch assists in a number of community activities, including education grants, donations of hospital packs, and fundraising drives such as the Choccies for the Cockies campaign to assist local farming families impacted by the drought, and caters for co...mmunity events such as Australia Day celebrations and the Crookwell Show. Branch volunteers also braved the sun, rain and snow in manning the manual Return and Earn facility, which helped secure the automated station which is now in place. Evening Branch Secretary Jeanette Painter encouraged locals to make a donation via Return and Earn before the end of November. "We are a volunteer group that relies solely on donations, so whether your donation via Return and Earn is big or small it will be most appreciated, because every dollar counts."



17.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who joined us at todays Crookwell AP&H Society Championship Dog Show at the Crookwell Show & AP&H Society. Evening Branch Members and our helpers served up some tasty treats to the hungry crowd such as egg and bacon and sausage sandwiches, slices, scones, biscuits, muffins, fresh sandwiches and more. We were also delighted to provide catering for the Dog Show judges.... Proceeds raised from today will help to fund local projects and initiatives.

17.01.2022 The CWA Crookwell Evening Branch wishes to advise that our next street stall, scheduled for 4 April 2020, has been cancelled due to Coronavirus social distancing requirements. Our April 2020 and May 2020 Branch meetings have also been cancelled to ensure the safety of our members. Future meetings will be determined in due course. We hope everyone stays well and safe during this uncertain time.

15.01.2022 Evening Branch Elects New President The CWA Crookwell Evening Branch has a new President with Dawn Smith elected unanimously by Branch members at this months AGM. Congratulations Dawn! Dawn is a founding member of the Evening Branch.... Outgoing President Rosemary Seary, who had served the maximum time permitted in the role, was elected Vice President. Jeanette Painter will remain as Secretary and Jackie Blowes will continue as Treasurer. 11.01.2022 Members of the CWA Crookwell Evening Branch cooked up a storm for todays Get to Know Your Local Reptiles school holiday activity held at Crookwell Library. The ladies baked 40 cupcakes for the youngsters on behalf of Upper Lachlan Landcare, which hosted the event. Yummo!

11.01.2022 New Exercise Equipment for the Wellness Centre Visitors to the Crookwell Wellness Centre will now have access to a new piece of exercise equipment thanks to the CWA Crookwell Evening Branch. Evening Branch members Jeanette Painter and Michaela Olde yesterday presented the vibrating exercise machine to the Wellness Centres Heather McDonald and Debbie Webb.... The machine, valued at $320, can be used for a range of exercises, including resistance training and step exercises. The vibration of the machine is also designed to assist in muscle stimulation and improve circulation for people with low mobility. The new machine will take the number of vibrating exercise machines at the Wellness Centre to two, with the first machine so popular there is often a line-up to use it. Mrs Painter said the Evening Branch was pleased to present the new exercise machine to the Wellness Centre. "The CWA Crookwell Evening Branch raises funds for a range of community services and activities via street stalls and other fundraising initiatives," Mrs Painter said. "As a group we try to support the community wherever possible and saw this donation as a way to give back. "The Wellness Centre is a wonderful community facility and we are delighted to provide them with this new piece of exercise equipment."

09.01.2022 New Patient Lifter for the Wellness Centre Staff at the Crookwell Wellness Centre now have access to a new patient lifter thanks to a joint fundraising effort from the CWA Crookwell Evening Branch, the Lions Club of Crookwell and the Rotary Club of Crookwell. Evening Branch President Dawn Smith, Secretary Jeanette Painter and Publicity Officer Danielle Crosbie today joined Lions Club Members Norm Fountain, Brent Hall and Jen Hall and Rotarys Les Hewett and Graham Chegwidden ...in presenting the Molift Raiser to the Wellness Centres Heather McDonald and Debbie Webb. The lifter, valued at $1,890, allows staff to transfer patients with mobility issues from a seated position, such as a car, to a standing position. Previously staff were using a sling lifter that was cumbersome and difficult to maneuver. Mrs Smith said staff at the Wellness Centre identified the need for the lifter and the Evening Branch was delighted to join the Lions Club and Rotary in contributing equal funding for the purchase of the valuable piece of equipment. "The CWA Crookwell Evening Branch raises funds for a range of local services and initiatives via street stalls and other fundraising drives," Mrs Smith said. "The Wellness Centre is a fantastic community facility and this lifter will help to provide greater dignity for customers with mobility issues and support staff in carrying out their wonderful work."

03.01.2022 Supplies for our Firies Members of the CWA Crookwell Evening Branch have rallied in support of our local firefighters. Evening Branch members Jeanette Painter and Danielle Crosbie today presented Charlie Swartz from the Rural Fire Service (RFS) Crookwell Brigade with supplies to support firies on the ground such as bottled water, eye drops, bandaids, personal care items and non-perishable snacks. ... Mrs Painter said the supplies were donated by the Branchs members in response to the devastating bushfires. "Like all Australians our members have been deeply saddened by the impact of the bushfires and are in awe of the brave firefighters who are risking their lives to protect others," Mrs Painter said. "This donation of supplies is a small gesture to thank our firies for their incredible efforts and support them on the ground." NSW RFS Southern Tablelands Zone
