23.01.2022 Hello Ladies, I accidentally posted a post on this page an advertisement for an electrical company. I apologise for offending anyone. This was done in error. Thank you to whom ever brought this to Wai Lins attention..... I manage 3 Facebook pages as well and my own personal page and accidentally posted on this one by mistake. I appreciate your understanding and I hope you know that we all make mistakes from time to time, I do especially when I do things in a hurry...in the greater scheme of things this is far from a catastrophic error!!!!

12.01.2022 ***STATEMENT FROM CWA OF NSW IN RELATION TO THE APPROVAL OF THE NARRABRI GAS PROJECT*** The CWA of NSW is today totally disillusioned with state planning proces...ses after the Independent Planning Commission’s approval of the Santos Narrabri Gas Project. CWA of NSW CEO Danica Leys stated that it beggars belief how a project requiring 134 strict conditions can even proceed to approval. If a project needs this many conditions, it’s an indication that they need to go back to the drawing board. It doesn’t stack up. We’re concerned that compliance on conditions is severely lacking in any case. We’ve seen it in the past with mining and other extractive projects. These companies get the green light and off they go, there’s no looping back to ensure all of these conditions are upheld into the future. Rural communities once again are left with the impacts. We’re pleased to see some requirements in the IPC report relating to waste management and salt reuse or disposal. This is a significant concern and we’ll be keeping a close eye on where Santos proceed in this regard. However other impacts such as groundwater and impacts on farming activities, remain as significant concerns. We believe that the insurance issue is also yet to be adequately addressed. The Chief Scientist has directed the NSW Government to fix it, the Upper House inquiry said fix it before any gas projects can proceed. It hasn’t been addressed and yet here we are. We know the economic impacts have been inflated, we know there are still no proper assurances on the environmental impacts. With such significant community objection and now an approval with a huge amount of conditions our members are increasingly disillusioned with the whole process.

08.01.2022 Ok family and friends. I went shopping at Coles yesterday (Sunday 27th October) and l needed corn kernels. So l picked up the cheapest tin which of course was ...Coles branded corn kernels (which also had the biggest shelf display). As l went to put the tin into my trolley l checked where they were grown. Too my shock (but l guess not too shocked) they were grown in Thailand. So l thought stuff this and started looking for something Australian grown. I found Edgell corn kernels (and much smaller shelf display. Tucked away nearly couldnt see them. Really had to look for them). I wish l had taken a photo of the shelf displays but unfortunately didnt. I brought the Edgell corn kernels because they are Australian grown and packed in Bathurst NSW. And what about the price you are asking. Coles branded corn kernels grown in Thailand were 90c. Edgell corn kernels grown in Australia were $1.00. So for 10c extra we could all be helping and supporting our great Aussie farmers. So how about we do that guys. So this is where l need your help. I need you too share my post, get your friends and their friends and so on to share this post. Lets all get this out. See more
