21.01.2022 Not an easy day for bowls today. Today’s winner in the club threes were Di Healy, Glenda Robins and Paula Collaros against Coral Rice, Bianca Hann, and Kay Wahlstedt. The other winners were Val Adamiak, Margaret Merrion and Denise Mackenzie against Janine McDonald, Bridget Wilson and Diane Moore. This was a very close and exciting game and they had to play an extra end. Next week the final will be between Denise and Paula we wish both teams all the best. 18.01.2022 We held our presentation day today, the official guests were Cardiff Bowls Club President Neville Berry, Cardiff women’s bowling club life members Isabel Baillie and June Hancock ,Patron Anne Merrion-Patterson. The winners of the Club Fours,the Ann Prichard shield was won by Coral Rice Terrie-Ann Jones, Di Healy and Paula Collaros, runners-up are Val Adamiak,Betty Anderson, Margaret Merrion and Denise Mackenzie, this was presented by patron Anne Merrion-Patterson. The Cl...ub triples winners were Di Healy, Glenda Robins and Paula Collaros,with the runners-up of Val Adamiak, Margaret Merrion and Denise Mackenzie ,this was presented by the treasurer Di Gilchrist. The Club Pairs winners were Glenda Robins and Paula Collaros ,with the runners-up Coral Rice and Bianca Hann ,this was presented by life member Isabel Baillie. The minor singles was won by Terrie-Ann Jones runner-up Di Gilchrist, this award was presented by vice president Brigitte Wilson. The Club consistency, the Daphne Hancock shield was won by Paula Collaros, runner-up Coral Rice, presented by daughter-in-law June Hancock. The Major Singles was won by Paula Collaros runner-up Diane Moore, presented by President Kristine Brogan. Paula Collaros responded on behalf of all the players. Cardiff bowling club president Neville Barry spoke on the improvements that have been happening to our club. We all sat down to a delicious meal served by the blind chef. Due to COVID the Encouragement Shield was not presented this year. See more

The other team of Coral Rice, Terri-Ann Jones, Di Healy, and Paula Collaros D Maureen Mitchell, Brigitte Holden, Di Gregson and Kristine Brogan. Thanks to the umpire Glenda Robins and the match committee of June Hancock and Barbara Murdoch. Next Thursday the final will be played against the team of Paula Collaros and Denise Mackenzie.

12.01.2022 We had a lot of fun at our Christmas party today playing turn around triples. As I say many times Cardiff ladies are great cooks, we were served with a delicious lunch. President Kristine gave all the ladies a special diary and the men a jar of Chocolate nuts. The Christmas raffle was won by Pat Hoole, Jennifer Penman and Barbara Murdoch. Our donations for the lunch will go to Ronald MacDonald House. That’s to all who helped on the day to make it such a success.
