11.01.2022 Hotel Ancora comes highly recommended for cyclists riding in the Costa Brava region. Josep is a mountain biker and has been mapping his favourite local routes over the past two years and can update riders about conditions of the rides. His family started the hotel back in 1970, and the family has run it since then. Secure areas for bikes at night and fantastic local cuisine and wines make the Hotel Ancor one of our favourite stopovers.

04.01.2022 Hola, I am writing this to you from Sotogrande in southern Spain. We have been exploring cycle routes along the coast between Malaga to Tarifa. Things are a little quiet at the moment in the streets which is to be expected given what the world is going through and what may be ahead. This region is fascinating - After the Islamic conquest of southern Spain, the city was fortified starting from the 10th century. There remains the well-preserved Guzman castle, near the port, and... the church of St. Mary, on the site of a former mosque. The ruins of the Roman city of Baelo Claudia, located nearby Málaga's history spans about 2,800 years, making it one of the oldest cities in Europe. The archaeological remains and monuments from the Phoenician, Roman, Arabic and Christian eras make the historic centre of the city an "open museum", displaying its history of nearly 3,000 years. The painter and sculptor Pablo Picasso, Hebrew poet and Jewish philosopher Solomon Ibn Gabirol and the actor Antonio Banderas were born in Málaga. We haven't rescheduled any tours yet but will keep a watch on the current situation during the next few weeks and be in contact directly with you regarding your tour. Our commitment remains the same to building unique and exceptional cycling tours for you whether it be this year or in the future. We are in contact with regional Tourism Boards, the Adventure Trade Travel Association, as well as closely monitoring updates from the World Health Organization, Australian Government, U.S. State Department, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The situation is evolving quickly but we are focused on making the best decision with you our riders at the front of our mind. The health and wellbeing of our guests and employees is our highest priority. Given continued consideration of the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, we know that flexibility is what our guests need right now and want to make sure they aren’t being penalised for changing their plans. If you are on any 2020 departure and decide that for any reason that it isn't the right time or place to travel we'll help you transfer your reservation to a future tour or refund you in full. The same goes if we have to cancel the trip. Just let us know in good time and we will sort it out. So, if you are worried about COVID-19 and want to roll over your deposit to next year or get a refund now, either is absolutely fine with us. We will be in touch with all tour riders for 2020 next week, in the meantime, stay safe and keep riding - there is nothing better than the freedom of a bike ride in times like these! Sincerely, Wayne & Kathy
