25.01.2022 Haven't heard of any of these in Geelong, despite the large numbers of people cycling. With council elections coming up, let's vote for a cycling friendly council.

24.01.2022 Are you out riding your bike in this wind, here are a few light-hearted tips.

23.01.2022 Official club rides are in recess. Are you riding anyway? Many of our members are riding every day. Luckily, here is Geelong, we are still allowed to ride outside a 5km radius of home.

23.01.2022 Do you wear a mask when you ride? How do you find it? How do you solve problems of getting enough oxygen when you're riding hard?

23.01.2022 Bellarine Rail Trail update https://www.railtrails.org.au//823-drysdale-underpass-on-b

23.01.2022 Our growing number of e-bike owners will attest to this. More are looking into e-bike purchases to enable them to go further.

22.01.2022 This also applies, perhaps even more to, to Geelong. It's not good enough to provide safe routes for cyclists that require them to go miles out of their way. We need direct, prioritised, networks of safe bike routes.

22.01.2022 If you're using the path in front of Balmoral Quay, take care. Large rocks have been washed over the path. There will also be stones along the path between St Helens boat ramp and Mackey Street.

22.01.2022 You may not be able to travel to ride a rail trail right now, but you can do the railtrail as a jigsaw (including our very own BRT - steam train included).

21.01.2022 This promo from NZ equally applies to Australia - NZ has a small population, but is well ahead in cycling infrastructure.

19.01.2022 https://sensibletransport.org.au//transport-and-climate-c/ This shows just how much CO2 we use when we use various modes of transport, and the public space each requires. Even a small reduction in car use helps. Have you ridden your bike for transport today?

17.01.2022 Finally Victoria will align with the rest of Australia.

16.01.2022 More and more of our members are enjoying the freedom of e-bikes. Are you one of them?

15.01.2022 Lots of people leaving the big smoke over the weekend to ride in Geelong region, especially the Bellarine and Bellarine Rail Trail.

14.01.2022 Those turning up at Balyang Sanctuary to ride the river circuit at 9am on Saturday... Not many pedals turning but lots of happy attendees. Thanks to our intrepid 'come rain, wind, hail or shine' cyclist, Kevin, for this photo

12.01.2022 Worth a read to see how car-centric USA is embracing new cycling infrastructure.

11.01.2022 Cycling is still our exercise of choice, even though club rides are suspended.

09.01.2022 In the UK, most trips are less than 5 miles. I suspect it's much the same in Geelong. Bikes are the best option for short trip transport.

08.01.2022 Dave recommends this series on living in Amsterdam. People are moving to the people-friendly cities.

07.01.2022 It seems that Drysdale bypass is finally open to vehicles. Hopefully the town will now be quieter - good news for cyclists. Thanks to our roving pedaller Dave for this.

04.01.2022 It will happen to us again soon. Best wishes to our pilots at MACs and to all staff and residents. Cycling Geelong is a proud partner of Cycling Without Age.

04.01.2022 This should be a mandatory checklist for new cycling infrastructure. Take note planners - especially the last point.

04.01.2022 If Liverpool, with its climate can make this change, get our on your bikes in Geelong.

03.01.2022 Use your green travel to buy things you like...

02.01.2022 Cycling Geelong rides resumed yesterday with Kevin leading a rainy ride with Doug. David s and Keith also rode the trail and the group caught up at Cafe Zoo before Keith and David headed back to Geelong.

02.01.2022 Stephanie and Geoff caught up with some cycling friends on a recent trip to Ballarat.
