19.01.2022 All of us at Cycling NSW send our best wishes to Cam Scott, a talented young racer from St George Cycling Club and the Camden area. On Sunday, Cam was injured in a crash during the final National Road Series race in Tweed. He is currently in a Gold Coast hospital. X-rays reveal he has three fractures to the pelvis, which will require surgery. Surgery is expected to take place on Monday.... Cam is being looked after by his trade team, Australian Cycling Academy, including directeur sportif Henk Vogels and team owner Ben Kersten. Despite his injuries, he is in good spirits and hoping for a speedy recovery. Cam and his family would like to extend their gratitude for the support shown by the wider cycling community. However, thanks in large part to the efforts of host club Illawarra CC and the Cycling NSW officials, the green light was given to run the red-hot crits on what quickly became a scorching November day. 16.01.2022 Ferocious winds and scorching heat weren't enough to stop Illawarra CC from hosting a memorable edition of the Wollongong Criteriums. At 6:30AM, it was touch-and-go as to whether racing would take place as fierce gusts approaching 80km/h battered the foreshore. However, after club volunteers reinforced the roadside barriers, race director Terry Wall and chief commissaire Howard Grimshaw gave the green light. As well as wind, the mercury started at 30C and only went upwards, ...turning Flagstaff Hill into a fan-forced oven. Congratulations to all riders who took on the challenge across four senior divisions and in the U15 & U17 races. After a long spell without racing, track cyclists across Australia rejoiced at the inaugural #VirtualTrackNats by Cycling Australia.
