24.01.2022 We’ve been running an annual Women on Wheels ride for the past 20 years but the feedback we’ve got is that women wanted regular riding opportunities. Thanks to ...a group of volunteer ride leaders, we are now endeavouring to offer a Women on Wheels ride in Hobart on the first Sunday of every month. The first ride is being held on Sunday 2 August at 10.30 am, leaving from the Cenotaph car park and heading out to Cadburys on the Intercity Cycleway then returning. At 29 km, it’s a great ride for building confidence and stamina. RSVP and more details at: https://ridewithgps.com//125920-women-on-wheels-icc-to-cad

24.01.2022 After years of campaigning for a safer crossing across Molle Street for people walking and riding, our calls have been answered with the announcement that the c...ouncil will receive federal Black Spot funding to fix it. The City of Hobart has plans to put in traffic signals to govern pedestrian and bike crossings and right turning vehicles into and out of Collins Street. It will receive $300,000 from the Australian Government program and contribute $150,000 of its own funds. More than 145 bike riders were counted at the intersection in the Super Tuesday two-hour count this year, with many more people crossing on foot.

20.01.2022 We are delighted to announce our Pump Track is now open for riding! It has been great to see so many people of differing ages and abilities using the area. Th...e vibe last Friday afternoon was one of respect, care and FUN! If using the area, please remove all rubbish and do not alter any of the newly created track. Also important to note: The area to the south of the track belongs to the Southern Cross Taroona Villas and the Catholic Church. Please do not park in this area or pass through the grounds whilst riding or on foot. You are however, welcome to use the parking area on the school grounds accessed via the laneway further down Karingal Court - please use the northern end of the ground and be aware that it is currently used for contractor parking for our Capital Works Building Project. Thanks again to Summit Trails for their work on this project! See more

17.01.2022 Goulds Lagoon Footpath project completed We are excited to share photos from the recently completed footpath installation at Goulds Lagoon (Main Road, Granton).... This was the most popular response from the community in a Paths, Tracks and Trails survey held late last year. Thanks to your feedback we can all enjoy this walking track to cross the lagoon via the causeway and explore the beloved Goulds Lagoon Reserve. We installed additional safety measures for pedestrians and replaced the bird fowl fence to enhance safety for the local birdlife here. Want more? You can let us know about missing links such as footpaths, cycleways, tracks and trails or new places you would like to see a trail. 15.01.2022 The Jamis Renegade bicycle that Hobart Rotary Club is giving away to one lucky person who pledges to #parkitfortheplanet on Wednesday 26 August is getting a few... modifications. To make it an ideal commuter/shopping bicycle, Johno at Cyclingo is fitting top handbrakes, mudguards and pack rack with storage bag to make it easier to carry your essentials. Thanks to Hobart Rotary Club Vice President, Matt Drake, for organising the bike give-away.

13.01.2022 Hopefully the 40km p/hr speed limits in the Hobart CBD come into effect soon, and Council reconsiders 30km p/h speed limits in the high pedestrian activity zones of Collins St and Elizabeth St in the heart of the CBD.

13.01.2022 Great news from last night's City of Hobart council meeting that a $685,000 Australian Government grant will go towards building the missing link between the In...tercity Cycleway and Macquarie Point. The cycleway link is one part of a bigger $1.25 million project to upgrade the Regatta Grounds car park and stormwater infrastructure - the remaining funding for the project will be decided in next financial year's capital expenditure budget. Alderman Simon Behrakis and Marti Zucco City of Hobart voted against the allocation of money to the project.

13.01.2022 Good news for bike riders shopping, working or socialising in the city.

12.01.2022 What do you think about this? Hobart's Tasman Bridge will undergo $65 million worth of strengthening and safety works to extend the lifespan of the bridge until 2070. Part of the project will involve the widening of footpaths, becoming 3.5 metres on both sides of the bridge.
