25.01.2022 Need a recipe for your next holiday party? Try these yummo sweet potato and red kidney bean party rolls from our friends Edgell Australia Ingredients: ... 500g packet frozen sweet potato rice, thawed 1 small red onion, diced 1 teaspoon Moroccan seasoning or curry powder 1 clove garlic, crushed 2 tablespoons olive oil 400g can red kidney beans, drained and roughly chopped 1 tablespoon tomato paste 3 sheets puff pastry, thawed 1 egg, lightly beaten, for glazing Poppy seeds, to sprinkle Method: 1. In a large bowl, combine sweet potato rice, diced onion, Moroccan seasoning or curry powder, garlic and olive oil. Mix well and place on a baking paper lined oven tray. 2. Bake in a pre heated oven at 200C for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Leave oven on. 3. Once mixture is cooled, transfer to a large bowl, add red kidney beans and tomato paste. Season to taste. 4. Place mixture along the first third of pastry sheet, forming an even sausage shape and roll to seal, ensuring the seam is on the under side. Repeat until mixture is used. Cut each roll into 4 portions and place on a baking paper lined oven tray. 5. Brush pastry with egg and sprinkle with poppy seeds. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until pastry is golden. Serve with a tomato chutney.

04.01.2022 There has been a significant increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the Northern Beache...s outbreak reported by NSW Health on Thursday evening. Given this increase and the evidence of community transmission, we are strengthening our health and travel advice to all Canberrans. All Canberrans are advised not to travel to the Northern Beaches area of Sydney at this time. Any Canberrans who have been in the Northern Beaches area from Friday 11 December 2020 need to immediately self quarantine and get tested. In addition, anyone who has been in an affected location identified by NSW Health should contact the ACT Communicable Disease Control team on (02) 5124 9213 for further advice. We know this will be difficult news for people so close to Christmas however, it is important we act quickly to respond to this outbreak while NSW continue with their contact tracing and assess the extent of the local transmission that is occurring. This is a timely reminder that as we make plans to come together with our family and friends in the coming weeks, or travel over the summer holidays, we must be COVID-Safe and get tested, even with the mildest of symptoms. NSW Health advice and the list of affected locations is available at: www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates ACT Health is monitoring the situation and working closely with NSW Health. As this is a quickly evolving situation, we will issue further advice as required.

01.01.2022 We send our wishes for a happy and healthy Christmas, and a New Year filled with hope. The Gordon Community Centre is closed from 24 December to 5 January, re-opening on Wednesday 6th January.
