21.01.2022 Week 6 - we had a visit from a zoologist called Emily Jones who brought some native animals to show us - bobtail, frogs, stick insects, snake and a pink and grey galah. Students learnt about the impact humans have on native animal habitats eg clearing of land, pollution and climate change. She taught us that native animals are protected by law which holds a $500.00 fine if you are caught poaching (stealing) a native animal. A license is required to keep a native animal and you need to know how to care for it, as each species has different requirements. Students enjoyed the hands on experience.

19.01.2022 * An important message for CJESC Parents and Guardians * We just wanted to send you some important information regarding learning arrangements for term two. At this stage, schools will remain open in term two, but parents are being asked to keep their children home until further notice.... As well as hard copy work packages that will be sent home, we will be using an online learning platform called SEESAW CLASS to post student's work, as well as a video conferencing app called ZOOM CLOUD MEETINGS to provide face to face learning. In order to allow for this to happen, we request that you assist your child in downloading the SEESAW CLASS and ZOOM CLOUD MEETINGS apps on their smart phone or tablet. SEESAW CLASS can also be accessed on laptops and desktop computers. It is important that students DO NOT set up an account to log in this has been done for them, and login codes will be provided to them next term. Classroom teachers will be providing every student with a learning pack, which will include individual student timetables, student login details, and hard copy learning materials. Packs will also include a device for parents who indicated that their child does not have one available at home. These packages will be delivered to students on Wednesday 29th April and Thursday 30th April in term two. Please do not hesitate to contact your childs classroom Teacher if you have any questions about this. We wish all CJESC students and families a safe and happy term break, and look forward to commencing a new and exciting learning journey with your child in term two.
