Our Boredom Buster Bags are delivered on a weekly basis to children in hospital with cystic fibrosis and make hospital stays a little less daunting for the smallest members of our community.

Mental wellness is especially important for all of us at the moment, and even more so for those in our community who are living with chronic illness. As mum to five-year-old twins both diagnosed with cystic fibrosis aged just five weeks old, Tegan knows that just catching a common cold could be disastrous for the girls. Now, Tegan no longer has to explain why she and her family always carry hand sanitiser and face masks, because everyone else is doing the same too. But while COVID...-19 has brought a level of understanding from those around the family, it's made living with cystic fibrosis harder in other areas. Isla was admitted to hospital during lockdown with a mass on her lung and infected mucus, COVID-19 meant that physical support from friends and extended family was limited. 09.01.2022 Tegan is mum to five-year-old twins both living with cystic fibrosis. As Queensland went into lockdown earlier in the year, Isla was admitted to hospital with infected mucus and a mass on her lung. What would usually have been an army of support rallying around the family of five, was now only one visitor to the hospital at a time and extended family unable to enter the family home to help with her other two children. COVID-19 has impacted everyone this year. For the Russell...s, social distancing regulations have meant the family could only rely on each other for hospital visits, daily physiotherapy and home-schooling, all while working from home. 02.01.2022 NDIS update, great news for our cystic fibrosis community! After yesterday’s meeting with NDIS Ministerial policy advisors I have some positive news to share. The NDIA will move away from the current lists to determine if someone meets access requirements from mid-2021. Instead, independent assessments will be used to build an overall picture of how a person functions in different areas of their life. The transition work will commence in January 2021.
