23.01.2022 What is happening in the Club apart from the preparation for access after COVID-19? The Committee has certainly been busy and is organising several upgrades. The solar system is now installed and is functional. Shortly there will be a new carpet in the dining room. The Committee is negotiating the best NBN connection and Eftpos connection. The wooden window frames and the dining tables are being sanded and polished this week as well. There are also several items required for ...the improvement of the premises and outdoor areas. There is no set date for the Clubs opening, and it will depend on the conditions of the third step of the easing of restrictions and the situation that is still developing around COVID-19. 21.01.2022 From 6pm tonight, Friday 8 January, until 6pm Monday 11 January people in the local government areas of Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Redlands and Logan will be required to stay at home except for the following reasons: Shopping for essentials, food and necessary supplies Medical or healthcare needs, including compassionate requirements Exercise with no more than one other person, unless all from the same household... 07.01.2022 Update about the Czechoslovakian club situation: The Committee of the Club is working behind the scenes to prepare the Club for the time when it will be possible to open it for visitors. There are quite a number of actions that have to be completed before that time. Some of them are: - completion of three page checklist - incorporating COVID Safe practices into the WHS plan... - all volunteers need to have TAFE COVID Safe course - introduce COVID Safe measures on and around the premises - arrange for Eftpos after connecting to NBN - organise recording of all patron's names, address and mobile phone at every visit which has to be kept for 56 days (stage 2), etc. As you can appreciate, it is not feasible to start with a very limited number of potential visitors. 03.01.2022 Good afternoon from Aurous Ltd my name is Ros and I am the Connection Support Officer for Aurous Ltd, a non-for-profit organisation operating from Brisbane, Qld. Our main project is the community visitors scheme, which covers Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania, with the exception of the metropolitan areas of Sydney and Melbourne.... The aim of the program, established in 1992 and fully funded by the Australian federal government, is to fight social isolation and loneliness among the senior members of our community, no matter their religious or cultural background. The reason of my enquiry is simple: we are looking for a volunteer able to allocate up to 1hr a week to interact with a senior gentleman living in Aspley.
