A report just received from International Crisis Group may be of interest to any Delegates who want to get a grip on the Yemen situation and the roles of the various players in the conflict. Nobody comes out with completely clean hands, I’m afraid. They don’t have to read the whole thing, which is pretty long, but a reading of the Executive Summary is highly recommended for everyone, but especially for any representatives wishing to sponsor this resolution.

08.01.2022 MUNA workshops were held this weekend in Berwick and Traralgon with a focus on discussing the resolutions that will be debated at the assembly 17-19 May. Alf Reina facilitator explained the resolutions and the position that various countries take in relation to these resolutions. 02.01.2022 Congratulations to the 54 students that participated in MUNA 2019. The delegates representing 27 countries debated 6 resolutions over the weekend. The style of debating was excellent and the adjudicators had a very hard job selecting the winner to the extent that only 9 points separated the first 6 delegations. I am pleased to announce the following winners: Best Overall Delegation won by Sweden represented by Chaliah Hilton-Cronin from Elizabeth Murdoch College and Sponsore...d by the Rotary Club of Langwarrin. Runner Up Best Delegation was was by North Korea represented by Trinity Joseph & Callum Mann from Mt Eliza Secondary College sponsored by the Rotary Club of Mt Eliza. The District Peace Award was won by the delegation from Brazil represented by Benjamin Scarborough from Berwick Grammar and Meagan Hansen from St Margaret's Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Pakenham. Best Costume was won by the delegation from Ethiopia represented by Lachlan Johnson and Nellie Vance from Rosebud Secondary College sponsored by the Rotary Club of Rosebud - Rye. The Delegation from Brazil also won the most popular delegation award. Congratulations to all the winners and all students that participated you represented your country, school and Rotary Clubs well See more
