18.01.2022 Did you know that Down Syndrome occurs when there is a triplication of the 21st chromosome? Today is World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD). The date has been selected in a very clever way; the 21st day of the 3rd month, to represent the triplication of the 21st chromosome. It is not yet known why Down Syndrome occurs, but it has always been a part of the human condition. It exists in all regions across the globe and commonly results in variable effects on learning styles, physical... characteristics and health. On WDSD, people around the world celebrate the lives and achievements of people with Down Syndrome, an event created to raise public awareness, promote inclusivity, encourage advocacy, and support the wellbeing of those living with Down Syndrome. #Downsyndrome #Worlddownsyndromeday #WDSD #Awareness #NDIS #Support
