20.01.2022 JOHN’S STORY John was a tuktuk driver, driving an old tuktuk that his uncle had made. He was a drinker, and had no real purpose in his life. His family was Buddhist, but he was not a practicing Buddhist. His father left (or maybe died) when he was young. 04.01.2022 Kim John is teaching English to a group of children who live near the Phnom Dai dump in Siem Reap. The children do go to the local Government school ( when it is open/ currently closed due to Covid-19). They learn the basics in Khmer language on half days. John goes to the villages two afternoons a week teaching English, plus providing school items and food. The children and youth normally ride 3 on one old bike. Through generous donations, he was recently able to purchase 5 new bicycles for them so they have their own bicycle. He has become like a father to these children, and his goal is to raise support through his organic farm to put them all through High school to give them future employment opportunities.
