25.01.2022 The tragic electrocution of a young girl in WA through a metal garden tap highlights the importance of regular electrical safety checks. Garry Itzstein, Executi...ve Director NECA WA commented on the cause of the incident to Nine News in Perth yesterday. https://www.9news.com.au//perth-girl-fighting-for-life-aft In our 2016 Policy Document, we proposed the introduction of a mandatory electrical safety audit for all residential and commercial properties to occur at the point of sale, or the start/renewal of any rental agreement. NECA will continue to actively lobby federal, state and local governments to introduce this quick and inexpensive process. Our thoughts are with 11 year old Denishar Woods and her family. Please follow your safety procedures carefully and take the opportunity to recommend an electrical safety audit to your customers.
