17.01.2022 Working on a Silk/Linen blend St Birgitta Cap this weekend, it will have a fine woven lace connecting the two halves and tiny little knife pleats along the hem, I will be working on a few different styles of women’s headwear in the next couple of weeks, designs for both under a veil and instead of a veil depending on who you’re portraying.

16.01.2022 On Saturday the 8th of February I’ll be running an Icelandic Mitten Workshop in Alexandria, Sydney - this workshop is open to all sewing skill levels and includes a historical sewing kit as well as a range of wool to pick from and learning historical sewing techniques - by the end of the day you will have a pair of handmade mittens ready for winter! We will also be running a 14th century hat making workshop, veil kit workshop and a pick your century purse making workshop all before Ironfest!

10.01.2022 Gathering together bits and pieces of wool (some more historical than others - namely the fuchsia) that are too small to make a garment for a historical glove (mitten) making workshop at Beorgwic 2019. We will be making mittens based on a 900-1200ce Icelandic find as pictured They are sewn together pieces of woven fabric which is not overly common.

05.01.2022 Hi Everyone We currently still have a few commission spots available for ironfest delivery!!! These are for small commissions or custom designed sew it yourself kits. Small commissions consist of: Hoods, Hats, Veils, purses, braies and chausses (footed or not footed) and mittens/gloves. ... Sew it yourself kits can be anything you need from dresses to tunics to gloves or trousers. Send me a message and I can give you some quotes for different options. We will be running two day workshops (one each day of the event) at ironfest this year making purses with tassels on Saturday and Learning buttons, button holes and some other historical stitching techniques on Sunday, these are short workshops and will still allow you to go and see the jousting and big events throughout the days! I will put up events over the weekend, you can still book in at the event in the mornings but I can’t guarantee you a spot as we have limited space in the sewing area.
