23.01.2022 One method of transportation within the travel industry that has been decimated by the global lock down. This is the end result of requesting refunds which travel agents have been working on behind the scenes to ensure our clients get maximum return all whilst not generating an income or sufficient income to replace these lost sales. It will take at least 2 years from when we can trade freely again to get some form of sustainable income again. 23.01.2022 Day 2: part 1- Today we put nearly 520kms in 12hrs driving through the outback which is mostly on sealed roads. We had about 16 odd kms on unsealed road which was good if you needed a back massage! We headed out to Menzies, Lake Ballard, Kookynie, Niagara Dam, and finishing the day off with a cold drink at the famous/infamous Broad Arrow Tavern. This last place is renown for allowing visitors to sign their names on the walls of the building however as of 2 days ago you are now no longer allowed to do it. This is because some visitors wrote stuff that was pretty crass to put it politely that the pub was spending more time painting over it than what it was meant to be creating.

Our first official tour once arriving in Kal was at the original brothel that still operates to this day however with no working girls at the moment. 16.01.2022 Day 4: Hannan's North Tourist Mine Tour. Highly recommend visiting this place as it gives you a really good appreciation regarding mining then and now. If you do visit, let Shannon and Sally know that I sent you. These ladies are very knowledgeable and very helpful. Suggest you spend at least 1.5hrs outside exploring. Great for the kids to do some gold panning or find gemstones. I found some gemstones because for the life of me I couldn't find the gold! Those of you who are into machinery and the likes, will have a field day.

14.01.2022 This is the local bouncer at the Grand Hotel in Koolkynie. Would not budge from the front door and the only way was for the pub owner, Margaret, to give him some licorice! I didn't trust Willy one bit and there was no way I was going to squeeze past him. Watch closely when I ask him if he likes licorice.

14.01.2022 The work of a travel agent is never finished even when you are laid up in a trolley bed in the Emergency Department for the duration of 3 staff shifts in the hospital for a suspected mini stroke. Don't worry, I am fine, in fact was in two minds about sharing this unflattering, make up free picture of me taken by my worried husband at the end of the day. This all happened yesterday. So I assisted 2 of the ED drs who had attended to me during the day with one needing informatio...n about getting someone back from the USA whilst the other one had tickets with Thai Airways and requested back in March for a refund. Unfortunately with Thai Airways being in receivership the tickets are in credit so no refunds available and had to redirect the dr back to his travel agent for further info as, to be honest, I really couldn't recall the credit details at that moment!! Side note: St John's Midland staff really looked after me well and all respect to medical staff who are on the go for the whole of their shifts. It was exhausting watching them coming and going non stop all day, crazy busy in ED! See more

13.01.2022 ETIHAD Airways (EY) has announced a new route to Israel, flying daily to Tel Aviv from 28 Mar 2021. The launch of the flights follows the IsraelUnited Arab Emirates normalisation agreement, and the signing of the Abraham Accords in Washington on 15 Sep. EY has now become the first Gulf carrier to operate commercial flights to/from Tel Aviv.

11.01.2022 Here is a little something from my parent's birth town in Italy - Sonnino - located approximately 80kms south of Rome. This town is renowned for producing award winning olive oil and Cataldo and his amazing enterprise has these small bottles of olive oil that contain flecks of 23kt gold! New York Italian chef, Gerardo Bruno who happens to also be Donald Trump's personal chef, showcased the other day a dish he made specifically for the president containing this oil. 09.01.2022 Golf with a difference. Did you know that on Cocos Island it has the only golf course in the world that includes an international airport runway?! The only time you are allowed to cross (once you get approval and the all clear) it is on the Thursday weekly Scroungers game joining in with the locals. Matera, 2019 Europe's Culture Capital and film locations for a number of other movies such as Wonder Woman and Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ whilst the other location is Gravina di Puglia in the province of Bari for it's iconic two level Roman bridge which spans a ravine.

They were both involved in the space flights with Bermuda being involved with the Mercury flights back in 1961.
