19.01.2022 36 and over 26 weeks pregnant! Oui, yesterday was my birthday and I spent it having the tastiest lunch made by my precious friend @stephsanzaro. It's so funny what can happen in just a year. So much has changed in everyone's life. I looked at my 35th birthday post, read it again and remember how mentally and physically exhausted I was at the time, questioning my life choices. I've always been a free spirit and felt like that part of me was gone. I was also feeling the pr...essure of being a woman in her mid-thirties, and dealing with the ticking clock. Funnily enough, a month later that year, I was diagnosed with endometriosis and all of a sudden, I stopped asking myself so many questions and we decided with Josh to try and get pregnant. And it happened. In January we were told the precious news ( first of all I cried and felt like I had lost all my freedom although I was already looking after a baby, this biz, my biggest baby ever). From then onwards, it's been a huge rollercoaster and this pregnancy has been far from a walk in the park. Starting with the excruciating pain from the endometriosis tissues being ripped apart and then all the fun pregnancy side effects. Somehow the chaos out there was actually life saving for me, I got the chance to rest and not worry about going to work when I just wanted someone to push me off a cliff ( figure of speech, seriously I never thought I could be so sick ). We had to go to hospital several times already and I now understand the worries a mum can feel, I have built an extra level of respect for all the mums out there. You ladies are amazing! I'll never forget the emotion I felt one night last week when I thought we were losing the baby, it was one of the strongest and deepest pain I've ever felt, and I'm so grateful that, despite the up and downs, this little nugget is way stronger than I thought. So here I am reflecting on the last 12 months and things have really started to take a big turn for me. I've made some big decisions about the way I live my life and look after myself, and took this has an advise for the future me: it's never too late to create a new path to hapiness . See more

As most of you know, I'm pregnant With my family living on the other side of the world and not much support here in Australia (we have the most amazing friends but it's never the same without your family around), I have decided that it is time for me to step down, and be the mumma I've always wanted to be!... Undeniably my emotions are mixed, my heart hurts a little but I'm so grateful for this amazing and passionate bunch taking over this family owned biz, and I can't wait to introduce you to the new team on Monday. More than anything, I'm beyond grateful for all the love and support you have been giving me, and this little dream of mine in the last few years. DFC was founded by the gorgeous @lizgant and I'm so honoured that she trusted me in pursuing this venture. Liz you taught me so much and I'm genuinely cherishing our friendship. I have learnt a lot but most importantly, you've welcomed me in your community arms open and made me feel at home. I have now countless amount of gorgeous souls around me. This is by far the best gift this business could have given me. I'll be forever treasuring a lot of beautiful feelings and memories in my heart. To the passionate small business owners I can now call friends, my amazing staff, the best local suppliers and businesses working hard to help us succeed, the beautiful clients who trusted us to take care of their food, my family, myfriends and my partner Josh who always believed in me even when I didn't believe in myself.. ..Whoever you are and to all of you, I want to say a huge MERCI!
