My own personal experience was a worst case scenario that ended in the death of my child due to an inability to address a blatant harmful situation which the department had placed upon my child. I tried and I tried and I tried to have my child removed from that dangerous foster home contacting the manager of DOCS Cairns North, my team leader, my CW, the now defunct commission for children, DOCS Complaints and so on. Everyone was astounded that my 2 ...year old toddler was in a foster home with a 74 year old carer who already had 5 older high needs foster children. Basically it came down to the manager Pat Anderson having the final say and no one could intervene. These kids are stolen from their families and thrown to the wolves.
