It is a truly remarkable story and I feel very grateful that I have been able to witness, photograph and film the incredible growth and transformation. 10.01.2022 How special is this place? The Daintree is just dreamy - quiet, restful, scenic. We've been staying right in the heart of the teeny weeny historic hamlet right ...on the river (but not too close to the edge! ) A 1 minute walk up to the cafe, Daintree Village Hotel (which also do take-away pizzas) or down to the croc cruise, if that's your thing. (I took one at Adelaide River in the NT a few years back and haven't slept peacefully ever since ) The only double storey place in town was once the butter factory engineer's residence - and he had control over the factory generator. So he "gifted" Daintree Village residents electricity long before most places in FNQ. How's that for shining a light on the Daintree? Please help us by taking this quick survey. The Bloomfield Track has re-opened through to Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire Council with the eas...ing of Covid-19 travel restrictions. Thanks for D'Arcy of Daintree 4WD Tours for taking this photo yesterday and sending it in. The CREB Track will remain closed until late August to allow contractors to complete important works at China Camp Road.

03.01.2022 Bloomfield Track partially re-opened The track is open to travellers at Emmagen Creek near Cape Tribulation - another reason to cross the Daintree Ferry and... explore the Daintree Coast. Council would like to advise motorists that there is a road barrier at the northern end of the track, near Woobadda Creek, as part of the State Government's COVID-19 restrictions. Motorists will be unable to pass this barrier until COVID-19 restrictions ease further. The CREB Track remains closed until further notice. Thanks to D'Arcy of Daintree 4WD Tours for the photo.
