The NSW On-Farm Leadership Development Program is well on its way to being completed, and we are now looking for Expressions of Interest from farmers who would like to be involved. Program Details; The On-Farm Leadership Development Program will be run virtua...lly, with 2 hour sessions run weekly over a 6 week period. Each cohort will consist of 8-12 participants to ensure individual focus can be given where needed, with facilitators available as needed. For now, we will only be running 1 cohort, with a tentative start date for the first week of August 2020. Consecutive cohorts will be run later in the year as the project allows. At the conclusion of the on-farm capability development activity, participants will be able to; Describe the perceptions and concepts of leadership and how leadership relates to staff satisfaction, engagement in personal and farm business goal achievement and retention Articulate the impact and importance of team values, and how these relate to creating an effective team culture on-farm Describe the roles of coaching and mentoring in on-farm leadership and the importance they play in professional development Identify and differentiate between personality types, with a focus on understanding individual preferences, perspectives and differences for enhanced team collaboration Communicate calmly, clearly and effectively with emotional awareness for conflict management Communicate clearly and effectively for performance focused feedback and career goal attainment for farm business success If you feel like this is a program you would like to get involved with, please register your interest by emailing Project Officer Emma Ludington ([email protected]) or contacting your local Regional Extension Officer.
