22.01.2022 Preschool Students from St John's Kingaroy, learning how butter was made using a butter churn. Linda, one of our volunteers kept the students interested while demonstrating. We had two groups visit this week and after not being able to have schools visit for so long it was great to be able to welcome them back to learn about our past and how our pioneers lived and survived with only the basics.

15.01.2022 Some of our volunteers are always coming up with ideas for fundraising for the Museum. We have several hand made craft items as well as the ones shown. These can be purchased from the Museum during our opening hours Tuesday to Sunday. The milk bottles are the original 1/3 pint bottles which were distributed to schools when free milk was available. These can be purchased as a single item or in one of our cute mini crates. Something from Murgon's past history.

15.01.2022 The Qld Dairy & Heritage Museum Murgon, will reopen on Friday 12th June. Opening hours are 9.30am 12.30pm Tuesday Sunday. Closed Mondays and some Public Hol...idays. Our Museum is set on spacious grounds with many interesting buildings and displays. You will need to take at least 1 hours to browse and fully appreciate what we have to offer. We offer Butter making displays for groups and if you wish you can have a guided tour or just take your time to reminisce. School groups and Bus Tours are welcome, and morning teas can be arranged on request. Our Chapel is available for hire if you are looking for a venue for a small wedding and the grounds provide the perfect setting for those special photographs. We have for sale our 1/3-pint milk bottles. These are the original milk bottles which were delivered to Schools from the South Burnett Dairy Co-Op Murgon. They can be purchased as a single item, or maybe you would like one of our handmade milk crates? Entry is Adults $5, Students $3, Children under 3 Free. Prices are available on request for Group bookings, Morning teas and Chapel hire by contacting us on 07 41 695001 during opening hours. The Museum will have a COVID19 Safe Plan in place on opening. 13.01.2022 While in isolation, one of our valued volunteers has been busy making Wheat Packs. There are two sizes available as well as a cute rat which is ideal to use on your neck. The prices are $15 & $10 and $10 for the rat. These can be used as heat or cold packs They can be purchased from the Museum during opening hours.
