02.01.2022 ANZAC Day-tomorrow Saturday/25 th April: Marks the day our soldiers landed on the coast of Gallipoli/Turkey in 1915. ANZAC day goes beyond the anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli in 1915.. This day we remember our fallen mates who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations, around the world. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as ANZACs, and the pride they took in that name endur...es to this day. ANZAC Day 25 April is probably Australia's most important national occasion. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. The Australian and New Zealand forces landed on Gallipoli on 25 April. Over 8,000 Australian soldiers were killed. News of which made a profound impact on Australians at home, and 25th April soon became the day on which Australians remembered the sacrifice of those who had died in the war. The creation of what became known as the ANZAC legend became an important part of the identity of both nations, shaping the ways they viewed both their past and their future. ANZAC Day goes beyond the anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli in 1915. It is the day we remember all Australians who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. The spirit of ANZAC, with its sacrifice, continues to have meaning and relevance for our sense of national identity. On ANZAC day, memorial ceremonies are held in towns and cities across the nation to acknowledge the service of our veterans. After the Memorial’s ceremony, families, friends and proud Australians, place a flower wreath or fresh flower bouquets, at the city's war memorials,to honour our fallen. This year due to prevailing COVID-19 pandemic ANZAC Day will not be celebrated in the traditional way. Australian are encouraged to Wake up, Go Out & Stand up for them, at their driveway/s tomorrow Sat 25th at 5: 30 to observe a minutes silence, for all those who gave their lives for our Today. So, Wake Up.Go out.Stand Up for them ,and be part of the ANZAC day and be a proud Australian. Never forget our fallen mates.
