24.01.2022 Evening folks ! This coming week is a very exciting and also nervous one here on our little farm. We are counting down the final day's until our first goat gives birth. So I thought there was no better time to introduce you to each of them. My very first goat was this beautiful gal, who we named Cookie. She arrived on our farm with a buckling who we named Cream. 24.01.2022 The last of the kids are on the ground. Finally we got a girl, and another boy. Storm is doing amazing for a first time mum

22.01.2022 We got this lovely drop last night. It is so great to see the rain spreading out and reaching a few of those who need it. Let's hope it keeps coming, for a great wet season.

21.01.2022 Finally the time has arrived. Our first goat, Pumpkin has given birth to twin bucks. On the 10th at 10am, Pumpkins labour began. She did so amazing and by 6.15pm her first baby was born. He is the spitting image of his mum except he has the most striking blue eyes. Only two minutes later her second little boy came into the world. 19.01.2022 Time has been moving at lightning speed and just like that it has been 3 weeks since my last blog. We are now on school holidays and have a little extra time up our sleeves to get some things done. So what have we been up to ? We have built our front door for the chook pen and will be purchasing the wire mesh this week. [ 315 more words ] http://daisybellfarm.com/2019/09/25/moving-forward/

18.01.2022 Trying to keep this little one going with molasses water, egg yolk and warm snuggles with me.

18.01.2022 Spring harvest has begun :)

17.01.2022 At 10am today Cookie began labour. For five and a half hours she, very peacefully and calmly prepared for her birth. At 3.37pm she delivered a healthy and beautiful all black baby boy. I was convinced there would be more than one but once again she suprised me with only one kid. Both mum and bub are doing well. Only one more doe is due to kid around the 20th of December. 15.01.2022 Having a goat of a time

15.01.2022 What a great way to start the day, with a beetroot harvest :)

13.01.2022 Evening folks. I hope this blog is finding you well. The busy but fun month of the year has begun. On top of the usual December festivities we now have kid goats on the ground, with more to arrive very soon. As this was my first official kidding season, I found there was a lot that I was not prepared for. [ 301 more words ] http://daisybellfarm.com/2019/12/09/the-after-math/

13.01.2022 So, what do you do when something upsetting happens on the farm ? This afternoon had a lesson in store for me, so what did I do with my frustration and doubtful thoughts ? It came time for the afternoon chores, I had finished feeding the animals and something told me it was time to water the garden. I wasn't going to today, we had only had rain 2 days ago and I thought the watering could wait until tomorrow, but I turned around and began to pull the hose over and noticed that the chooks had made there way somehow through the fence and into my garden. 09.01.2022 Brand new bubba's have greeted us this morning

06.01.2022 2 little boys :)

05.01.2022 Hi folks, hope you are all having a wonderful day where ever you are on this beautiful planet of ours. Finally the chook pen is complete enough that we are able to use it. I am so happy with how it is turning out and the chickens seem quite pleased aswell. We put up the mesh on 2 walls and the door, built a temporary roost out of branches and reused our nesting boxes from the chicken tractor to make the pen safe and comfortable for our girls. 03.01.2022 Twin brothers. The little brown one we have named Rocky Road, he is now a bottle baby after mum rejected him but he is doing so well now. The other little guy is doing great with mum. A big thank you to a local lady who helped to get Rocky drinking properly ..

02.01.2022 Evening folks ! On the fifteenth our goat Storm gave birth to twins. And true to her name she created chaos. At 12 pm I just happened to look out the window and noticed her standing in the middle of the paddock with a head presented. I had no idea she was in labour, there were no signs that morning at all. 02.01.2022 Good morning blog readers, I do hope you all have a wonderful day today. The garden has been moving ahead in leaps and bounds lately. Harvesting the fruits or should I say vegetables of my labour has begun. With the devestation from losing some of my plants to the chooks in the last blog, it comes with great pleasure to be able to let you know I have started picking some of our vegies.
