19.01.2022 Brisbane Daito Ryu kicks off again tomorrow night at the Gap Uniting Church at 7pm. Fresh from a trip to Japan to train with our incredibly kind and sharing Shihan, we look forward to seeing you there! And as always, a big thank you to all of our teachers in both Australia and Japan for your wonderful time and effort spent working with us as we grow together.

18.01.2022 What a Great night - Brisbane got to host the last training session with Jyrki Sensei from Finland on his visit to Australia - big thanks to all who attended including the team from Seikukan Karate for use of their Dojo and their interest and willingness to join in the class!

17.01.2022 Due to the ongoing development of the COVID-19 Corona Virus at a national and international level, the Brisbane Daito Ryu Dokokai will be closed for the next 30 days, at which point we will review the situation and confirm how we will proceed. All going well our classes will resume on 21 April 2020. While we understand that this is frustrating for all of us and our students, it is our responsibility to provide the safest training environment possible for everyone. As such we will continue to monitor the situation and hope that we can return to our regular class schedule soon. Wishing you all safe and healthy training - Jeremy and the Brisbane Dokokai team.

12.01.2022 Practice with Takumakai Daito-ryu Brisbane Study Group gives you access to learning Aiki Jujutsu from some of the best teachers in the world. In conjunction with Gold Coast Dojo, teachers are invited from Japan and abroad to visit our region to teach exclusive intensive seminars and workshops. Locally we have Gavin Slater sensei Kyoju Dairi (teaching license) holding the high rank of Okuden from Amatsu sensei - Slater sensei specializes in teaching the Soden waza which are se...ts of highly sophisticated and devastating Aiki jujutsu techniques passed down from Takeda Sokaku sensei to Hisa sensei of Takumakai. Brisbane Study Group is under the guidance of Grant Periott sensei of Gold Coast Dojo who is a student of Kawabe sensei (8th Dan Kyoju Dairi). Study Group membership allows access to learn and practice Daito-ryu in both Australia and Japan. Tuesday night training at the Gap dojo will be back In early December leading up to Xmas and with lots of new insights direct from Japan!
