25.01.2022 2013 Katsuura. This photo was taken at the end of the seminar. Always so much to learn. Looking forward to the day we can all train together again

23.01.2022 We’re doing some Saturday Daitoryu training. Please email [email protected] if you are not a regular and would like to attend.

22.01.2022 Further to recent announcement regarding Hombu Dojo. Here is another great DTR website. Just click top right hand corner for English language (American flag ; )

19.01.2022 Brothers Kondo Today 1st August 2020 is the day that Kondo Katsuyuki Sensei passes over the reigns to his younger brother Masayuki Kondo. We welcome our new Hombu-Cho and wish him the very best of our support to continue this amazing legacy that is Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu. What huge footsteps to follow and in this new era with such big challenges ahead. ... Budo is a unique and individual path for us all. But together we walk the journey. Thank you from all of your students Kondo Katsuyuki Sensei for all your hard work and inspiration. You have guided so many of us on this challenging journey We look forward together to this new era and to continue this path together. For us all ‘ Gambatte Kudasai’

17.01.2022 Katsuura 2013 Happy Memories. This was a proud moment for DTR Australia with three Australians attending the annual summer seminar. ( well ok an English woman and Irishman and an Australian ) Founder students Gretchen and Oran shared this arduous and momentous journey.

15.01.2022 Katsuura Japan Seminar Can’t remember what year it was! Looking forward to the day we can all train together again in Japan Will I be too old by then....!?

10.01.2022 Keiko Hajime Tried to start the new year off well with some training with those of us who could make it. We don’t normally post much video but seems COVID has opened things up more. ... We did a lot of other techniques in our practice, but here is a glimpse. I think our technique is pretty terrible compared to our Sensei’s but at least we are trying. Was great to train together and hoping to get into some kind of routine practice this year. I feel for our DTR brothers and sisters who are in a worse situation than us. Please stay strong and healthy. To our fellow Australians please feel welcome to come to our open Sat training 16th Jan if you are interested in some Traditional Japanese Jujutsu. 09.01.2022 Katsuura 2015 Now we have four Australians at the annual summer seminar! Having been on so many visits to Japan and seminars as only Australian present I noticed how much more learning we brought back together as a team. ... One person remembers only so much and can only perceive the instructions from their own perspective. When we were more we could all remember together back home. Remember a different view point, different approach, something someone else hadn’t noticed, something some of us hadn’t realised or forgotten.... Budo is our own path but we share the journey together so we can practice. Thank you to all my partners and teachers for the training and most of all for the laughs, sweat, blood and tears that sincere practice brings. Here we have Oran, myself, Tris and Shane. Arigatou

08.01.2022 Some photos of our Sat training session Got fair way through idori before we relented and did Tachiai; Ippondori, Obiotoshi and Uraotoshi. Have a great weekend everyone!

06.01.2022 Yesterday we did: Hanmi nage Shime gaeshi Kata Guruma Shuto zume ( idori version)... Uraotoshi Our social media manager (me) forgot to take any photos. It’s nice just to get on with training and not worry about trying to take a new photo angle. I didn’t do it deliberately. It just went that way. We seem to have exhausted all photo options. Do we do the same boring photo of us all sitting there at the end...? I guess it’s nice to know we are all trying in our own ways to keep up our practice in our various groups around the world. I must admit I enjoy seeing all our DTR buddies around the World are still practicing and getting on with things. I’ll just take random couple of shots next time. We are lucky here in Australia as we are doing very well with COVID. I say Gambatte to all our fellow practitioners and martial artists around the World. Stay strong and focus on what you can do. Not on what you can’t do

04.01.2022 We’re back! Our first class post Covid lockdown. Took a while to move dojo and regain energy and momentum. Truly awesome day to get back into training. What a dedicated team we have. Small but solid. Some new friends too, to share the journey. (And our own ninja-surgeon...?) Thank you to our teachers and ancestors for this opportunity. ... We are minuscule in the scheme of things but we do our best to continue this incredible tradition. Gambatte Kudasai !

03.01.2022 This day 2 years ago... Looking forward to the day we can travel again to see our Daito Ryu family In the meantime stay safe everyone and keep training

03.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone! Last year we started the year with usual optimistic hopes and excitement. What a year it turned out to be! ... Here is a photo of the dojo in Katsuura where we train in the annual seminar. Non of us got to the seminar this year... I really hope we can all meet again on the mat. It will be all the greater for the delay and we will all be so happy to see each other. I bid you all happy new year. Well done to us all on enduring this most challenging of years for so many of us. My sincere condolences for our loved ones who didn’t make it. Our duty is to make the most of this precious life and help each other. Until we meet again on the mat I say Gambatte to us all.
