18.01.2022 5 years ago we did our first Dakota's Trail. We had an amazing turnout with over 200 people joining us. Raised awareness & funds for FARA Australasia & had a wonderful family day.

10.01.2022 Some happy news to share! Dakota recently married the love of her life. She was a beautiful bride and it was a very special day for everyone who was present. We feel very blessed by the continued support of our family, friends and our Walk Ataxia followers.
09.01.2022 Today is International Ataxia Awareness Day. What is Ataxia? Ataxia is a lack of muscle coordination which may affect speech, eye movements, the ability to swallow, walking, picking up objects and other voluntary movements. A person with persistent ataxia may have damage in the part of the brain that controls muscle coordination - the cerebellum. Ataxia may have several causes, including multiple sclerosis, a head injury, alcohol abuse, stroke, cerebral palsy, a faulty gene, or a tumor. Ataxia may also be a symptom of incoordination linked to infections. There are different types of ataxias including Friedreich's ataxia and spinocerebellar ataxia type 6. According to Ataxia UK, there are over 40 known forms of inherited ataxias - new forms continue to be identified as scientific techniques improve.

08.01.2022 In 3 days time, Saturday 26th September, I am walking for my beautiful daughter, Dakota, at Walk Ataxia. Like most parents, I would do anything for my children.... We are blessed with 2 gorgeous girls who are talented in their own ways, so clever and so beautiful. Dakota I want you to know that I would do anything to find a cure or treatment to help you live a full and beautiful life. On Saturday I am walking for you! One step closer to finding a cure! You are one of the strongest people that I know and I am so proud of you. In the words of Spandau Ballet: "if there is nothing else I can do I'll fly for you"
