19.01.2022 Plant of the week Giant sedum. The bees love this plant. Grows to nearly a metre tall, flowers from summer to winter. Starts green, then pink, moving into apricot and browning off in winter. Cut the stems down to the ground in winter and in spring they will emerge again forming a larger clump. You can divide them by putting the shovel through the clump. Will grow in a large pot for a year and dividing each spring. 30cm pots for $5 each.

18.01.2022 Plant of the week is the Toad Lily. A small herbaceous plant to around 40cm tall flower spikes. Prefers part shade. Dies down over winter but multiplies and comes back in Spring to flower late summer. Great in a big pot in your fernery, on your patio or verandah, could come inside while flowering for a dazzling display.... 20cm pots for $5 each. Flowering now. See more

15.01.2022 Started potting up tiny tomato seedlings, they will be available for purchase in about 6 weeks or when lockdown is over. For planting in the ground first week of November. I have nearly 30 varieties this year. Interesting how the varieties that I have been saving for years have germinated first and the new varieties not quite yet. Acclimatisation is key!

12.01.2022 Lovely yellow cymbidium orchids and orange clivia's flowering at the moment in my plant stall. Plus lots of yummy tomato seedlings and lots more veg seedlings. But as it's an outdoors stall and we can keep the required distance I am happy to receive any of you by appointment anytime. As I am not going anywhere. So message me here or call 0400051146. Gardening is a wonderful thing to do to relieve stress, so get into your garden. You have the time and I have the plants. Autumn is a great time to plant.

10.01.2022 Tomatoes! A few people have been asking me about their tomatoes not ripening. I have been getting tomatoes for a couple of weeks now and this is what I did to get them ripening. Cut off all new stems with flowers and tiny fruits, it's Too late for them now. Trim off the old leaves near the ground and up to about 30cm, this will let the light in to that fruit. Don't take off all the leaves or the fruit may get sunburnt.... Goodluck gardeners See more
