22.01.2022 DELIBERATION This Applies To All Business! NOT Just Radio. No Great Businesses Just Great People! In Radio why is sales important? In reality, it is a necessary cog in machine that is a radio station, But a Station / Business is more than just sales.... We cannot operate without: Outstanding Creative, close enough is not good enough, outstanding is the minimum level that the creative writer / producer will expect from themselves. Creative and engaging Content, none of the just another 3 hours to get out of the away, a shift of excitement and engaging content that will leave the announcer thrilled and exhausted at the same time at its completion. Receptionist and office staff who look at their job as a rewarding and exciting career. Public interaction is not a chore it is an exciting moment to improve an already great relationship. Techs: who keep the show going no matter what. Sales Crew meeting station expectations by exceeding Clients wants and desires. Sales should be a cohesive team with one aim. Success! While a work experience kid at 4IP in the 70’s I was exposed to the Alan McGirvan show and I have never wanted to travel down any other career path since then. Thanks Alan!...................... 16.01.2022 Deliberation Are You Winning The Customer Battle Post COVID 19? It is amazing how many businesses this week are anticipating the world after COVID 19, are you?... Those making plans might be wrong but one thing for sure the way we do business as of now is going to be very different. The way people use your services will be changing, every single customer big or small is takes on a new and, in some cases, more important level of importance. Is your customer happy with not only the service or product you supply but also the way you supply it. Is the customer the main focus of your staff? Staff can play a massive part in winning or losing clients. Who does your client interact with most from your team , are they presenting your business well. Will the customer talk positively about you OR talk about you to your competition when they engage them over you. The new business battleground is being fought on many fronts including the interactive experience the customer has with you. Talk to your customer ensure they are getting all they want and desire from you and are going to fall in love with your business. Don’t be a dinosaur, become a yet to be discovered business species. Every interactive moment with your customer must be an outstandingly positive experience! Thoughts?
02.01.2022 Deliberation ~~ ~ Business is like a Battle? I believe we must have this philosophy in the back of our mind when we open or undertake a business venture. We want that business to be successful and reap the rewards of victory! We offer clemency and compassion to those we battle against everyday (and we should) but in reality we are there to put food on the table of our Family and make our hard earned income from that businesssSimilar to being in a battle, there is a lot to los...e if we do not win. Do we have the right tools in our arsenal to not only fight that battle but to win! Our battleground, is a business we believe will be successful but do we have all the tools to make it victorious? Marketing is an important tool in that arsenal. Social Media, plus you need at least one of the 3 main forms of Media too. I believe that Radio is the weapon of choice, still the most effective form of marketing around. Running your business is like a battle and in a modern battle the troops with the Air Power win, and so it is with radio. Social Media and Radio are a powerful effective combination. The words of Dick Taylor kicked off this thought and when you think of it there were only two strong forms of propaganda available in the 40’s, film and radio. Thoughts? See more
02.01.2022 Deliberation Just what are you selling? This quote from Theodore Parker should make us all think. What are we selling?... If we are selling a lounge, we are selling an item surely? Or are we selling a comfortable solution to your sitting requirements that will add value and style to your home while you relax and enjoy your Home Theater? If we are selling a car we are selling an item, but it one that is stylish and sophisticated that will make driving safer and easier while making you look good as well as making a statement as to the successful stature you have in the world? Get the picture? While we should look at the item perhaps, we should not look at it from the prospective of the person selling it, but from the perspective of what it offers to the purchaser! Kodak sold memories you can keep forever, memories that will take you back to that special moment in life when that photo was taken. Before Digital Cameras evolved, but that is another story. Do we say, buy paper coated on a cellulose triacetate base, no buy a film to retain memories of that special time in your life works better and appeals to the buyer by invoking trust in the product. Trust only Kodak with your memories. Agree or not. Thoughts?????
