19.01.2022 I end my term as Captain at Dalkeith CFS on the 31st August 2020. Looking forward to seeing out tomorrow night (training) with my fellow CFS volunteers. It has been a privilege to have the brigades supports, as their Captain for the last 4 years. I have chosen not to nominate for another term, as previously planned. A position that can be challenging, time consuming, most of all exciting and fun. Together as a community brigade we achieved many positive outcomes. This has cha...llenged many outside of Dalkeith CFS, but warranted for the future of Dalkeith CFS and the evolving changes in our community. I look forward to giving my support to the incoming Leadership and Management Group that will continue to drive Dalkeith CFS forward into the future. My advocacy for Dalkeith will continue, but I am sure in a different format. Signing off for the last time on managing Dalkeith's Facebook - keep safe Clint Marsh Dalkeith Captain

18.01.2022 TOTAL FIRE BANS - Thursday November 19th - Mount Lofty Ranges - SEVERE Fire Danger... Media and the public are advised that TOTAL FIRE BANS have been declared for 19 November 2020 in the following Fire Ban Districts: Mid North - Severe Mount Lofty Ranges - Severe Yorke Peninsula - Severe Murraylands - Severe Upper South East - Severe Lower South East - Severe Where Total Fire Bans have been declared, very hazardous fire weather conditions are predicted. The Total Fire Ban will apply for 24 hours from midnight tonight to midnight tomorrow. The CFS recommends that you implement your Bushfire Survival Plan. FIRE DANGER RATING Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Severe, well prepared and actively defended houses can offer safety during a fire. If you don't have a plan to ensure your survival, leaving early before a fire starts is your safest option. In making your plan, you should be aware that in high fire danger conditions, essential services including mains-fed electricity and water supply may not be available due to the prevailing weather conditions. Landowners are asked to adhere to local harvest codes of practice which are available from your local council. Landowners are also asked to ensure that any burn-off activities conducted today are fully extinguished before midnight tonight. Agencies are advised to activate their Total Fire Ban procedures in preparation for these predicted fire weather conditions. For further information contact the Bushfire Information Hotline on 1800 362 361 or visit https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au

08.01.2022 On this day... 19 years ago 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift. None of them saw past 10:00am Sept 11, 2001.... In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted. #wewillneverforget Iain Hepburn Dalkeith Lieutenant 4

01.01.2022 Hi All, Just clarifying our response plan during the elevated COVID 19 restriction period. SACFS and its brigades are considered an essential service for the purpose of the emergency responses we cover, our members will still respond to emergency incidents when called. Our members can travel to their local station from their homes and return for a emergency callout, so you may see our members in transit for a callout from time to time. Farm fire units can respond to local inc...idents with our appliances for the purpose of firefighting. We encourage farm fire units to do as we do and be COVID aware and abide by local health recommendations. The station will be closed to the general public as a measure of control, please don't be offended if your asked to remain outside, we still love you. If you need a response from us do as we have always recommended and call 000 and ask for fire, be prepared to provide your closest named road. Most of all, look out for each other and be kind to others, we're all in the same boat. We can all get through this together Iain Hepburn Brigade Lieutenant
