25.01.2022 Tip Tuesday Have you got kids who pull a face or run away as soon as you try to get a photo? Here’s 7 tips that might help! ... 1. Music! Pop on some great tunes and dance! Maybe a costume if that floats your kiddos’ boat. Inside or outside. Soft & floaty or loud & cray cray. Join in for a while, then get started with the camera! 2. Tickles! With parents or siblings or grandparents tickles are always a winner! 3. A beloved toy! Could be their snuggle friend or best car. Whatever they love. Ask them to tell you about it, what they love about it. Or if they’re too young, grab shots of them playing with their favourite thing! 4. Play games! Races, peekaboo, catching, jumping in waves, board games, hopscotch new games, favourite games, active games or quiet games. Inside or outside. 5. Be patient! Beautiful photos can be captured in the moment, with patience. The photos you look back on with most love will likely be the tiny moments you capture of your children, not necessarily the posed shots. 6. Negotiate! Make a deala time frame or number of photos then camera / phone away. Gives you the opportunity to get involved in the fun after the photos too! 7. Bribewhen all else fails chocolate! It’s ok! What’s your child’s kryptonite? They’ll love the bribe and remember photos being fun you’ll get the photos you want WIN WIN!! Happy snapping!

24.01.2022 Here's your friendly end of the month photo back up reminder! Save all those beautiful Spring photos!

23.01.2022 Get in early! Did did you know there’s only 96 days until Christmas! Crazy I know but true! ... So sharing ideas for USING your photos this week crossed with Tip Tuesday gets you this gem GET IN EARLY! If you’d like to use photos to make Christmas gifts this year (you know with your beautifully organised and accessible photos) it’s a good idea to start making that list and checking it twice. The busiest time for a print lab is the lead up to Christmas, so delays can occur. Add to this the current strain local and international post is under it’s a good idea to get thinking, finding and creating soon. This little video is one I created last year with some ideas. I’ll be showcasing some new ideas in October so watch out for those in the meantime start that list who’s getting what? Do you have a go to Christmas photo gift? I’d love to hear!

23.01.2022 Tip Tuesday Possibly my favourite tip Give your kids a camera! ... It’s a completely different world! When your kiddos get a chance at taking their own photos you see their world from their perspective! You see what is interesting to them You see things from their level You see them engaging in the space in a different way You see them take pride in the photos they have created You see them learn a new way to communicate You also see lots of up close selfies! Give them an old phone, an old compact camera, the point and shoot in the back of the drawer, or those camera toy things, if a bit older they could learn to use the family dslr anything to give them a chance to capture their world their way! All ages, all abilities, all backgrounds your children will love it! And I promise you will too! Feel free to share photos from your little artists! (These photos are from when our daughter was 3 and 4 years old selfies... before they were a thing... and shoes were obviously a focus at this point!)

23.01.2022 Flights of Fancy Friday! Pisa... oh we loved Pisa! Our daughter, Ella, was 8 years old at the time and completely obsessed with Italian mathematician Fibonacci...think the golden ratio, natures numbers and pinecones! ... Turns out Fibs (as she called him) is buried next to the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Absolute bliss... the tower was merely an afterthought for her! Though none of these images are of Fibs, we always associate Pisa with him... I adored the divine architecture of the Tower and the church next door! So many curves juxtaposed with straight lines... and the textures! Now... the question is... which one for the frames? What's your vote? Place a 1, 2, 3 or 4 in the comments! I wonder what will be the favourite?

23.01.2022 Tip Tuesday Today's tip is not completely photo based... but could be very useful with school holidays coming up. Especially if you'd like to carve out time to get something done for yourself (whispers time on your photo organising project!) ... My good friend Fiona has developed a range of virtual activities for the school holidays. Have a look at her website for full details. https://www.virtually-there.com.au/ Fiona has a teaching and coaching background, children of her own and a great network of other educators and artists to bring together a unique school holiday experience for primary aged children. With our current need to be more home based and online learning being second nature to our amazing Victorian kids, these workshops are the perfect tool to keep them entertained and engaged, and giving YOU time to get some work done, have a quiet cuppa or my favourite work though some more photos. Fiona offers craft, cooking, art and STEM activities. All with an educational underpinning and super fun engagement while being able to adhere to all the current requirements. A great way to help our primary school kiddos (and parents) to get through these school holidays.

23.01.2022 4 Generations...irreplaceable. This is one of the last photos I have of my Mum. The only photo I have of my daughter with her Grandmama (my Mum) and her Grannie (my grandmother) and me all together.... My daughter is wearing the cow boots Grannie gave her. We are sitting on my Aunt's verandah. My daughter is pointing to her most favourite person (even I was second place when these two were together!) What you can't see... is the family lunch we had just finished, my uncle who had driven my Grannie from Devonport, my Aunt and her family with us from Perth, all the other children running around, playing, the dozens of cups of tea made that day, the quiet chats in small groups, the laughs, the silent sadness, the breeze on our faces on this sunny day. A little bit of normal, beautiful family time on a stunning spring day. You also can't see that within two weeks my Mum was gone. A few years later my Grannie too. This is one of my most precious possessions. And I didn't even know it would be so important to me when it was taken. I have had this printed for years, so I can see it every day. I have it on a hard drive with my other photos so I can use it in projects. I have it saved on the cloud so I don't lose it if something catastrophic happens to my computer/ hard drive or at my home. I had no idea how precious this photo would be to me and to my daughter at the time. So now I do my best to ensure I will always be able to have it and see it... and that one day we can show my daughters children the strong, loving, intelligent women they came from. Do you have a precious photo... or collection of them? What do you do to keep them safe?

22.01.2022 Here are some stills of the wall & frames I was talking about in my live a minute ago. IKEA frames... a great option for using photos in your decor. Now time to find some photos of our family travels to pop in there! ... What would you choose to pop in these in your home? Travel like me? Your children? Your pets. Your grandies? Flowers? Landscapes?

22.01.2022 Services offered.... 1:1 COACHING Coaching is available to clients who feel they’d like continued and hands on support through their project. ... We will meet, discuss your goals and look though your collection to create a tailored plan for us to work together. We get to plan and create sessions specific to your needs and your collection, ensuring the process is continual and consistent and complete! Depending on the size of the collection and your goals, we might have a handful of sessions or a long term plan to photo and memorabilia management. While not necessary, having completed the COLLECT SORT SAVE USE workshop is useful, though we can incorporate parts of the lessons in the process we design. If you think this is the way to finally get all your beautiful treasures organised, safe and accessible send me a message... lets chat! Note...in person services are currently on hold, however we can connect, chat and work out how to move forward until we can meet and get to work! I'd love to hear from you.

22.01.2022 Tip Tuesday! The best and biggest tip I can ever give (and do very often) to Mums is... Get In The Photo! ... It doesn't matter if you're hair isn't right... It doesn't matter if you'd prefer to lose a few kilos... It doesn't matter what you're wearing... It doesn't matter what your makeup looks like... None of this matters to your kids... now or later. What will matter is that there are photos of YOU! With your children. With your partner. With your family. Having fun, being silly, caring, nurturing, in the moment. That's what this photo is... me, in the photo. My husband and daughter being silly, sharing same crazy sense of humor. Them knowing a photo is important to me. Me knowing I will treasure this photo of their silliness, our togetherness and our adventure for far longer than it took to take it. It's not about a perfect moment with perfect hair or clothes or poses. It's about me as a Mum being in the very authentic moment, with my family and being able to capture that love... and craziness! It can be as simple as a selfie or asking someone to take the photo! Or treat yourself every now and again to a photographer who takes all the hassles away for you! So challenge is on Mums... with children of all ages...GET IN THE PHOTO!!! I'd love to see some photos of you with your family in the comments!

22.01.2022 For a bit of fun...10 things you didn’t know about me! 1. I lived in a caravan in Karatha the top end of WA when I was little. 2. For most of my life I had a significant fear of dogs but I fell in love with my husband’s Aunt and Uncles Border Collie, Bobby and decided we needed one. So I worked hard on that. I still don’t like dogs off lead very much. ... 3. I used to bite my nails until my Aunt promised me a manicure if I stopped! I was 8. About the age of this school photo! 4. I was at the first Collingwood V Port Power game at the MCG I might have been the only one singing both team songs! 5. I used to teach adults not just children! In Horsham I taught in the Early Childhood Department at the local TAFE campus (then Uni of Ballarat)! 6. I was taller than my primary school principal in year 6! 7. I was born in QLD, lived in WA but spent most of my life in SA before moving to VIC. I have spent a lot of time in TAS, and visits in NSW and ACT so NT is the only one I haven’t been to must plan that trip! 8. I was a runner before my family! But not anymore now I’m an event mum/wife/friend and I love it! 9. I was at the record-breaking Garth Brooks in Central Park concert it was magnificent and mind blowing! 10. Brook Shields and I helped an elderly lady with change in line at the supermarket. Bonus thing I’m taller than Brook Shields! Tell me something I don't know about you!

20.01.2022 Are you a tree up in November or December family? We are definately December 1st! The past few years we've done a cute time lapse video of our tree decorating fun. ... It's an easy way to record this fun family tradition... and the best bit... if emotions run high, you're not likely to see it in the timelapse! Here's some tips that might help... Check your lights work before you start to decorate (I could be preaching to the converted... but some people don't!) Make sure you're phone is fully charged or plugged in. If you want to be able to present the decorations to the camera you'll need to hold them there for a while for it to register in the video. I think we slowly counted to 20 each time. Encourage the family not to stand right in front of the camera. Side is better then you can see the decorsations going on! HAVE FUN! Enjoy the start of the Christmas season... we all need some joy for the end of this crazy year! I'd love to see your videos or photos of your trees... already up and decorated... or as they go up in December! Please share in the comments below! And yes, we have a strange tree - a non fruiting espaliered apple tree from our garden that was replaced. We kept the tree, cut it into a tree share and use it over and over each year... all the little branches are great for hanging our most precious decorations... we love it!

20.01.2022 Flight of Fancy Friday... Can you guess where / what this is? Tell me in the comments! ... Gold star for anyone who gets it right. Clue - it's definitely overseas and is a you might not expect to find concrete steps here! Ok, go.... Well done Marie and Andrew! La tour Eiffel it is! When we were in Paris when Ella was a new born she went to the top, but in preparation for going again when she was 8, having not remembered the last time... she desperately wanted to go again! This time we were challenged by one of Ella's friends to climb it... so all 669 steps we did! Fun challenge and not many people doing that! We took the lift down! Fun fact... we also have this as a ceramic coaster on our table, one of a set I've made of our travels and favourite places!

20.01.2022 Ten years, three schools and a pandemic apart, my daughter goes back to school today, with all the other 8's, 9's and 10's across metro Melbourne! These kiddos are the last to get back to normal school, some just weeks before exams start! All students and their parents have done an amazing job this year! ... I took this 'Back To School... take 3' photo this morning and couldn't resist quickly grabbing a first day of sports uniform in prep pic from our family collection.! Super easy with a consolidated and organised collection! You can't see her smile in this one... but it's the same cute smile... just bigger! I'd better make sure there's a good after school snack!

20.01.2022 Your friendly end of month backup reminder for October! Don't risk losing those gorgeous photos of your little goblins! I'd love to see Halloween dress up photos ... from this year or past years! Throw them in the comments!

20.01.2022 Le'ts shop local... Let's shop small... Let's support local small businesses that have ridden the 2020 wave and could do with our business and support! ... I'd love to hear from you! What are... the small businesses, the artists, the crafters, the service providers, the cafes, the restaurants, the producers, the local amateur theatre groups, the designers, the creators... we should all know about? The near The far The physically local shops And the small businesses that have had to move solely to online because of all the challenges that 2020 has thrown. We have so many amazing dedicated, creative business people who have struggled on, worked hard, learned new skills, diversified and just plain put in the blood, sweat and tears this year! Throw a link in the comments... lets share the love! I'll be popping some in over the following days... please join me!

19.01.2022 Help! I have a couple of big projects on... can’t watch tv as I do them... hit me with your PODCAST recommendations!Help! I have a couple of big projects on... can’t watch tv as I do them... hit me with your PODCAST recommendations!

19.01.2022 Share Day! You know I love photos... all photos...and I love to see yours! This month we've definitely seen so much of Spring's glory. ... What Springy goodness is on your camera reel?

19.01.2022 I'm feeling a bit MIA this week on this page! Lots happening behind the scenes... Our last COLLECT SORT SAVE USE photo organising class for the year starts tonight with a group of fab peeps! So excited...... Some thinking and planning for next year... And I'm wrapping up a slide scanning project that has had me travelling all over Queensland in the 60's and 70's. Some great before and afters coming next week. What have you achieved this week? Big or little... I'd love to hear!

18.01.2022 All this week I’ll share different ideas about how to use those photos you can easily access when you have completed your photo organising project. Today it’s Animoto slideshows. I gift each of my family photography clients with a slideshow of the photos they have purchased. They love seeing the photos all together and it’s a great way to easily share with others. ... I also use these with my own photos, like this quick slideshow really quick no editing just get it done to share a fun family day on my social media! In the USE section of COLLECT SORT SAVE USE We cover a huge range of ideas Not just print a photo and put it in an album Some discounts Lots of recommendations Definitely tips and tricks It really is the reward for the work you’ve done in the other sections of the workshop! Send me a message I’d love to chat about your collection!

18.01.2022 TIP TUESDAY! Get yourself a photo buddy! One way to help stay on track with a project is to build in accountability. ... Someone doing a similar project... or someone doing a different project... or someone you know will just keep you on track! Most people have someone in their life that will help them keep at their project. That might be a friendly reminder, or working on something themselves and you can share and celebrate progress. Or perhaps that friend who is no holds barred and will give you that proverbial kick to keep at it! They can be near or far. My Bestie is fortunate / unfortunate to have me as her accountability buddy for her photo organising project! We are working through her older physical photos and her digital collection (as COVID allows!). She can share her exciting finds with me... and I can bug her to get the next bit done! We both know the sense of achievement and security she will feel when her project is complete. Her children and extended family will enjoy the photos she'll be able to access and share easily. Who's your person? Who keeps you accountable? Who would give you that nudge to keep going when you get a bit overwhelmed? Note to said Bestie... we need better photos of us together... you are my accountability buddy to get this done!

18.01.2022 SORT! Many people start their photo organising project with great enthusiasm. They see the benefits of ensuring their collection is together, organised, safe and accessible.... But... then get truly overwhelmed when they get to the actual organising bit. Then the collected photos sit... no safer or more organisied than they were. In the SORT section of the workshop you will learn a simple and manageable process for your physical photos. We'll also cover organsing your digital collection and incorporating scanned photos and memorabilia. You'll create the perfect filing system for your treasures... that makes sense to you and makes finding a home for every photo a joy, instead of a chore. The main focus is to avoid the overwhelm, give you a system to work through and work towards achieving your goals. SORT is the backbone of being able to enjoy, share and use your photos!

18.01.2022 Do you need a hump day pick me up? How about taking a minute to vote for a local heros and organisations! A couple to note...... Heartfelt and Gavin Blue... who provide photography for families during their deepest loss. I know a number of photographers who do this work and families who have received the gift of photos to treasure of their little ones. Truly a hero to create and continue this amazing service. Big Group Hug, based in the northern suburbs is a group I’ve donated to and done some work for. Begun by Mums and continues to make a difference to so many families and children, with amazing volunteers! There’s a bunch of other worthwhile heroes too... you’ll undoubtedly find something that floats your boat. In a time that is challenging and often negative... do something good and positive and helpful!

17.01.2022 Exciting news tomorrow! I'll be going LIVE to share! So excited!Exciting news tomorrow! I'll be going LIVE to share! So excited!

16.01.2022 Share Day! I love seeing other people's photos! Will you share a photo from your camera roll in the comments. ... Tell me why you chose it!

16.01.2022 Through the SAVE section of the workshop we demystify ‘the cloud’, identify what you’ll need to consider for your cloud service, the pit falls and catches to watch for. Also practical tips on how to get your photos into and out of the cloud. Not to forget your beautifully organised physical photos and memorabilia keeping them safe and accessible. ... So many practical tips to make sure all the work you do in COLLECT and SORT is preserved for the future, but also super accessible for present for you to really enjoy and USE your photos. I have an evening workshop starting next week... bite sized chunks to get you ready to delve into your own photo collection. Message me for more info or a chat.

15.01.2022 What are you up to today? We’ve had a little guerilla gardening in our back driveway. Look at that massive worm! Looking forward to seeing what blooms! ... Have you managed some time in the sun today?

15.01.2022 Wow! What a weekend that was. US election, restriction changes, high schoolers preparing for exams...... I spent most of the weekend attending an online conference for Photo Managers... sessions starting at 5am on Saturday and Sunday. That time should only exist if you're going on a plane! So much great info... but add in all the other world and life stuff, I could use an extra day to the weekend! Anyone feel like they need a day off today to get over the weekend? Would you choose relaxing at the beach, a walk in a forest or leisurely cafe time? Tell me in the comments!

15.01.2022 Flight of Fancy Friday Ohh it's so cold today... I hope you are all cozy and warm! Most days I share what I love and offer in my photos work... family sessions and photo management... but Fridays I share some of my passions about photography and what it means to me. ... But today's flight of fancy is from a special guest... Marie is a long time friend with a very kind soul and I'm delighted to have her as my first Friday guest! With the very broad brief of a photo of a place or time that is very important to you and the story, she's given us the perfect image for this day... don't you just want to curl up and stay here all day! Here's Marie's words... "My library. I waited a very long time to have a library. Somewhere to display my books. And some of my collections. My father died when I was barely 11 years old. I remember he read National Geographics. About 20 years ago, I decided I would start my own collection. Beautiful friends buy them for me (thank you Dal!). I also have a collection of vintage cameras. Last count I had 40. This collection also started because of dad. He had a bellows camera i loved to take photos with when I was a budding photographer of 14 years old." How gorgeous is this space... the memories and collections it holds... we all need a place like this. A spot to sit and contemplate and most importantly a beautiful and dedicated spot to display and enjoy your treasures! I'm adding library on to my wishlist! I love that Marie shared a space in her home that is her special space and a way to remember her father. Thankyou so much for sharing Marie! (and yes... I still covet your camera collection!) Have you got your own special cozy spot? I'd love to see it!

14.01.2022 Flight of Fancy Friday! Remember on the Tip Tuesday post I suggested giving your children a camera... and you got to see some of my (then) 3/4 year old's photos... selfies and feet! Today's Flight of Fancy Friday hits fast forward five years to when she was about 10 years old and created this beauty! ... A winter break at Aireys Inlet... A high tide... A 10 year old with a point and shoot camera. I love this photo because I had nothing to do with her taking it! We were on a family walk, we were all taking photos in our own way, but she did it all alone and it’s beautiful! She's had opportunity to have a camera in her hands for years, Opportunities to play and explore the camera, the process, See and experience her environment though a lens, We’ve shared the delight she always had in showing us her photos... particularly the loads of shoe photos! We were able to encourage her efforts with a gentle approach when she asked for help and info to improve her photos... And then all our family get to enjoy this masterpiece and so many more! Have you worked out the best option for your children to take photos yet?

14.01.2022 The reality of life in Australia, in the lead up to summer, is that many of us need to prepare for the possibility (or likelihood!) of fires. Bush fires, wild fires, scrub fires, whatever you call them they are dangerous, unpredictable and often at the whim of the weather. People living in bushfire prone areas will be starting to review their fire plans, do work around the house and talk with the kids about what their responsibilities are if a fire happens. ...Continue reading

13.01.2022 TIP TUESDAY! Hands up who has precious photos in your text messages? These are often important parts of your story and a way modern photos are shared... but are they saved anywhere? ... So today's tip... save them as you get them! Simple at that! Ding... new photo from your partner of your child seeing ducklings at the park... Ahhh... how lovely... SAVE TO CAMERA ROLL! It's that easy. And saves having to trawl back through messages to find THAT photo. Works the same for all your socials and messaging apps! Hope that's helpful!

12.01.2022 First live in a while and rambly as always! Sharing with you changes in my business and new services to offer to clients. This is Save Your Photos Month - who knew!... I'll be sharing more about my new services and tips and tricks to ensure your phtoos are organised, safe and able to be used all this month. Check in tomorrow when I share a fun competiton!

11.01.2022 Flight of Fancy Friday! We can't travel at the moment... but maybe we can travel vicariously through... ... our food? ... Beautiful photos... a bit of fun! I might try some of this myself this weekend!

11.01.2022 Carbs or chocolate... surviving isolation just like this puppy!

11.01.2022 Flight of Fancy Friday! Keeping the hope alive. Deep deep down into Melbourne's Stage 4 restrictions...... our daughters school trip to Italy is cancelled, our trip to Spain at the same time is cancelled, all the running event trips and visits to friends, all cancelled for the year... at this stage we are looking forward with crossed fingers and hopeful hearts that we get to see this beautiful sunset in Mildura again in January! This photo brings memories of hot, sunny summer days, kids loving the water and each others company. Some learning to ski for the first time, others like they were born on skis! Great food and wine and the kind of laughter and relaxation you find with years of friendship. It also brings hope in this time of monotony and restrictions. We won't be able to travel overseas as we had planned this summer, but we hope to enjoy this view, across the other side of the state... and the silver lining from all that travel cancelled... we'll be able to stay a few extra days this time... fingers crossed! Where will you visit for your first post restrictions holiday?

10.01.2022 Do you know where your photos are? Could you grab them quickly if you need to? The reality for most people is no!... Because the photos are... On USB's in a drawer In emailed photos On old laptops In your phone On DVD's.... somewhere in the house And who knows where else..... 07.01.2022 About to get my slide on! Starting a personal project today... Digital scanning my husbands slide collection. ... When he was 15 & 16 he studied photography outside of high school. These ones are from that era around the Lakes Entrance, Metung, Lake Bunga area. So looking forward to watching these beauties come to life... But first removing them from this plastic before it does more damage... and a good clean! I’ll show the results when I get them finished! Do you have slides you need digitised?

06.01.2022 Flight of Fancy Friday...as close as I'll get to Tasmania for a while! Huonville dock, South West of Hobart. Cray pots were never so appealing as in this beautiful tiny town at dusk in the summer. ... After a fantastic Christmas with family in Hobart, my husband and I abandoned our child to the relatives and escaped for a few days! Yippee! (Don't worry, she was suitably spoilt while we were away!) Our first proper holiday without her, so of course there was a long lunch at the divine Peppermint Bay restaurant, various cheese shops, Ida Bay open train ride to a beautiful beach and wineries galore! We stayed in a fancy place across the road from this dock. Now the food adventures, the wines, the marvelous scenery and time together all paled into insignificance when two photo minded peeps see a stunning sunset on cray boats across the road. This photo reminds me of a great few days away, beautiful light, divine food and the joy of working with Chris to get THE shot! It's also a detail shot and I love these. Textures and details sometimes help us remember important parts of a place, a person or an event. Remember to collect the details... even better if there is fabulous golden light! Have you been to this area of Tasmania... so much goodness.

06.01.2022 Fantastic work from Emily Black and the AIPP Victoria team! In what has already been a crazy struggle of a year for photographers we were having to face the extra hurdle of clients wearing facemasks during a session! We now have clarity and the ability to creat beautiful photos with our clients. ... Metro Melbourne still needs to wait a bit longer, but so exciting that we know the rules when we are back into it! Thanks to all those who signed the petition!

05.01.2022 Why are photos important? These moments... Moments that can never happen again... ... Moments that my daughter will never remember but are part of her story... Moments that have captured the joy these two had in each other... Moments that have shaped us all. My daughter was 22 months old when my Mum passed away... she's now 15. I'm her only child and my daughter was her only grandchild. Now, my Mum was not a fan of having photos taken, lots of us aren't... but once her 'Little Treasure' was born she tolerated photos... and I'm so glad she did. I'm forever grateful we have these photos showing just a tiny percentage of what a deep and beautiful relationship these two had. I continue to miss my Mum like mad, but more than that, I miss the potential these photos hold... the love, joy, adventures and mischief they would have had. But, I do have these beautiful photos... to help me remember, but most importantly for my daughter to have a visual reference for the memories we talk about. These are among my most precious possessions. I work hard to make sure they are safe and accessible. I make sure to share them with her and have them available for her to share with her children one day. Do you have precious photos you need to keep safe?

05.01.2022 So on Tuesday we looked at protecting a digital collection during fire season today a physical collection. I’ll share with you the plan a client (new fire zone resident) and I have worked up, given we can’t meet to work on her physical collection at the moment. This client has a lot of albums. Eventually she will have me scan them, and one option could be to package them up and I could be working on them during the fire season, however in this case they need some sorting a...nd culling before she’s ready to do this. So this the plan for the coming fire season Albums collect them all, place in labelled tubs, store them in her daughters’ spare room in metro Melbourne Boxes and tubs of loose photos again, collected, placed in labelled tubs and stored at daughters’ home Photos in frames the smaller ones she’s going to do the same as above, she’ll miss them over the summer, but long term wants them to be safe Bigger framed photos and art works she will take photos of these and the most precious will go to her daughters. Eventually we will scan these. (The EHD of their digital photos (see Tuesday’s post) will be going to her daughter’s house too and her daughter has volunteered to upload a copy to her cloud service until the fire season is over and her mum has her own cloud sorted yay for daughters!) Early next year when the fire season is over, her treasures are back home and my client has time (and I’m allowed in her home!) we’ll work through my usual process of sorting, organising and digitising her collection, so that the following fire seasons she just needs to make sure her super precious items are at her daughters (a much smaller collection than this year!) and that her cloud service is happily ticking over. She has identified a handful of items she would be sad losing the rest she’s happy to have safe in a digital form. Sohere’s hoping this fire season is nothing like the last one but with the knowledge we can do a lot to protect our precious photographic memories. Again, if you are in a fire zone, I’m happy to have a quick chat on the phone or by zoom to help make sure you have a solid immediate plan to make sure those precious treasures are safe this season!
