24.01.2022 Our Online Learning Hub aims to support childrens learning and development and to give our families ideas to help your child enjoy learning at home through play the way that young children learn best! Activities for all ages have been carefully selected by our experienced educators which require materials that most families will already have at home. Please do not forget to post any play activities you do with your child on our facebook page or storypark, as we would love ...to see these! Thank you :)

19.01.2022 The Kindergarten children have been exploring indigenous culture by copying symbols presented on flash cards. The children have been using a chopstick as a draw medium to make marks in the sand. Some of these symbols included a waterhole, yam leaf and possum tracks. LEARNING PROVOCATION: Culture & Community EYLF GOAL: For children to express ideas and make meaning using a range of media National Sorry Day 26th May acknowledges and recognises members of the Stolen Generations. National Sorry Day is important to us at Dalmor, but also to us as Australians in acknowledging Australias First Peoples, we use this day to remember and recognise our Stolen Generations.
19.01.2022 Sciene week begins at Dalmor Avenue. The children engaged in various science themed experiences. They enjoyed creating a volcano in the sandpit and watched it erupt.
19.01.2022 Dalmor Avenue is ready to be a part of the ongoing trend of "Spoonville", where we will create characters out of spoons, wood or any available resource to engage our children and also to cheer the people who walk by our centre. We would like to request the families to donate any old spoons or material which we can use to create our "Spoonville" village themed characters. The children at home can also create their own spoonville characters and place them outside their houses. We are excited to see how our s come out to be. Please feel free to share pictures of your spoonville characters. Thanks

Bunnies , were the choice of most of our children. So, bunnies it shall be. We are seeking suggestions from our families, if anyone knows from where we can get some bunnies or if anyone has them ? 15.01.2022 A garden is a place of interest, mystery, excitement and beauty that offers many opportunities for learning. Through gardening children learn: an appreciation of the natural world; a sense of awe and wonder; an understanding of patterns and life cycles and how to care for living things. Gardening provides children with a meaningful way to explore and develop an appreciation of nature. We know that connecting young children to the natural world is crucial for their optimal intellectual and physical development; provides a sense of belonging, calm and relaxation and helps them grow into adults who care about preserving the environment we live in. LEARNING PROVOCATION: Sustainablity & Envivonment PHILOSOPHY: Children are encouraged to explore their inherent connection to nature and it elements.
15.01.2022 Please remember to pack a warm jumper and jacket for your child to wear whilst playing outdoors. Also, a warm beanie for them to put on. If your child would like to play in the mud patch (most do!), we suggest that you dress your child in gumboots or pack them in their bag so that they can change their shoes if they choose to play in this area of our outdoor environment.
15.01.2022 Today is National Sorry Day. Dalmor Avenue Early Learning & Kinder would like to acknowledge the lands on which we learn and work belong to the traditional custodians, the Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We hope that by embedding reconciliation and empathy within our youngest generation we assist in working with our First Nations peoples towards a better future for us all!

11.01.2022 Slip! Slop! Slap! Seek! Slide! From September, Victorias UV levels are on the rise, so its time to dust off the sun protection gear and Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek, Slide whenever you are outside. Check the daily sun protection times you can find them on the free SunSmart app, online (sunsmart.com.au), in the weather section of newspapers, or as a free SunSmart widget. If you cant check the sun protection times each day, make sure you use sun protection every day from Septemb...er to the end of April in Victoria. Dont just wait for hot, sunny days. Remember these 5 SunSmart steps during the sun protection times, even if its cool or cloudy 1. Slip on covering clothing. If you can see skin, UV can reach it. Is your childs skin covered with cool clothing today? 2. Slop on SPF 30 or higher broad-spectrum sunscreen. Apply sunscreen before going outdoors and reapply every two hours. One application is not enough. Has your child had sunscreen applied and reapplied today? 3. Slap on a sun protective hat. The best hat shades the head, face, eyes, ears and neck. Does your childs hat protect all of these areas? 4. Seek shade. Shady spaces help block some of the suns UV but not all so you still need to wear hats, clothing and sunscreen even in the shade. Does your child have shady places to play? 5. Slide on sunglasses labelled AS 1067. If practical, help protect your childs eyes with sunglasses. Are your childs eyes safe in the sun?

11.01.2022 LEARNING PROVOCATION- Language, Literacy & Communication VEYLDF GOAL: For children to begin to understand key literacy processes through print and text PHILOSOPHY: Educators facilitate learning through open ended questioning and inquiry based play experiences Ultimately our intention is to provoke learning. In this example we are provoking children to learn ways of communicating. Through text and print children gain letter recognition and begin to attempt to write their own name

01.01.2022 " Caring for our seniors is perhaps the most important responsibility we have ". And those who are fulfilling these responsibilities deserve appreciation. 7th August is celebrated as the Aged Care Employee Appreciation Day. This day reminds us that there is someone in whos hands we can place the care of our elderly.... These Employees can be the nurses, cleaners, cooks, drivers, hospitality teams, and laundry employees, janitors, kitchen staff, laundry workers, and even volunteers. We, at Dalmor Avenue ELC & Kinder, along with our children, will be sending out cards, drawings, paintings etc. to show our bit of appreciation. We encourage everyone around us to do their part in brightening up someones day. They deserve it !
01.01.2022 As a part of our philosophy children are encouraged to explore their inherent connection to nature and its elements. Children love the rain, on the whole, and love to play in the rain! Here is a little person exploring with the element of water Please remember to provide us with a beanie, waterproof jacket & gumboots for your child so they too can explore the natural world in Autumn
