25.01.2022 Merchant payment provider company "Stripe" don't care about dealing with scam artists. Here is a copy of the latest email i received from Stripe. They still won't close the shonky account. Changing email addresses so i don't get notified of another unsuspecting person being ripped off is not good enough. My recommendation would be to NEVER purchase anything if the merchant uses Stripe and certainly never to sign up as a merchant with Stripe (something i didn't do and yet fin...d myself in this situation). Read the email and tell me what you think - Hey there, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We take it seriously. After investigating, we determined that this is likely a case of stolen business details, but not likely personal ID theft. We changed the email address associated with the account, so you won't receive further notifications on this. I know this is unsettling, and I appreciate you for working with us on this. 22.01.2022 [Fraudulent Account Warning] - Just want to let you know that someone has set up a fraudulent business account with STRIPE (like Paypal) using my url and facebook details and has been fraudulently charging people's credit cards. If you have a charge on your card, it is NOT from me. I don't have merchant facilities with Stripe. Please dispute this and report it to your bank. The sad thing is I can't rectify this with Stripe. I have filed a local Police report as requested by Stripe and will also file with the Australian Cyber Security Centre. Please be mindful of your junkbox. I only found this by mistake.
