21.01.2022 Hi. This is Dr Linda Dalton. I have always had a keen interest in people and how they behave and come through the crises of life in their personal and business lives. Right now we are faced with a once in a generation challenge. Many of us have found adapting to this hugely stressful. Cut off from our regular supports. To assist with this we now offer Telehealth - appointments both phone and/or Apps like Apple FaceTime. Appointments and further information are available by ringing 03 5174 0399

20.01.2022 With restrictions easing up, it’s about time for a laugh. Dr. Linda

19.01.2022 How are we All? My, I thought 2020 was tough but 2021 hasn’t exactly turned out to be much better. I don’t want to make any political comments but the challenges have been growing month by month. We are still hidden behind masks, limited in wining, dining and socialising, celebrations of life, love and death all the while ducking and weaving to accommodate changes that fly out of no where. I’ve just spent 5 days completely alone and not able to work. I think I had a grief rea...ction. Moments of feelings of profound loss and sadness. These past 5 days in lockdown have been the hardest in the entire pandemic for me. Now the possibility of further lockdown fills me with dread. I can’t imagine how All of you with extra challenges of job loss, economic hardship, small businesses hit hard, juggling homeschooling and social isolation are feeling. All I can say is please, look out for you and yours. Emotional pain is just as hurtful as physical pain. This too will end. Can’t wait. Dr Linda. See more

16.01.2022 Hello. Good news. We’re back to doing face to face appointments, or should I say mask to mask appointments. Telehealth is still available for those who prefer this. The pandemic is still profoundly impacting on all of our lives but, hopefully we are now seeing things return to some semblance of our regular life. It’s been tough and our thoughts are with our Metro Victorians as they follow us on the path out. Earlier today I posted an amazing quote from England’s former Prime Minister. All politics aside, it so beautifully illustrates the power of our thoughts. May yours be positive. Dr Linda

15.01.2022 Hi again. Just a reminder to keep your eyes on the road ahead and not in the rear view mirror. The restrictions will soon ease and we need to be ready to re-engage. Pretty soon it will be Christmas and holiday season. Start thinking of your personal contribution to making your life and that of those you care about loving and joyful. I read a quote that said we should heal a heart we didn’t break and love a child we didn’t make. (I’m sorry I don’t know the source). What an inspirational proverb. Just a reminder... we are open and doing mask to mask appointments. Take care. Dr Linda.

14.01.2022 Watch your thoughts, for they will become actions. Watch your actions, for they'll become... habits. Watch your habits for they will forge your character. Watch your character, for it will make your destiny. Margaret Thatcher

10.01.2022 Hello Dr Linda checking in to remind you that we are still here and supporting you through this pandemic. It is apparent that we all remain in a critical time in regard to COVID 19. And hoping that a second wave does not become a reality. We're all missing some aspect of our pre-COVID life. That invokes a roller coaster of frustrations and emotions. We must hold firm and not lose sight of the danger of this unseen and silent threat. ... In the meantime we continue to offer our clients both face to face (with social distancing and other precautionary measures) or Telehealth (either straight phone or video calling). Whatever suits you. Of course if you are physically vulnerable, think you have symptoms or just prefer, Telehealth might be best for you. Please remember that although it's a change, we will get through it. If you're struggling, just want a listening ear or a bit of both, we're here to support you. Best wishes.

08.01.2022 Back to Lockdown Stage 3. We’ve done this before and we got through then and we will now. So it’s back to baking and word puzzles for me! I hope you’ve got your favourites too. Today the government announced that the number of subsidised Medicare consultation sessions in a calendar year has been increased 20 - up by 10. This is terrific news for everyone. Consultations can be face to face or Telehealth. Stay safe. Dr Linda.

04.01.2022 It’s beginning to look like things will start to make their way back to our pre-Covid life soon. I know it’s still going to require a challenge to our resilience as we do. It is unlikely to happen overnight. People I speak to tell me they are exhausted and in a rut. In preparation for return to our normal life, I urge you to think about and prepare for this in a way that might enhance your life going forward and pull you out of that rut. Commit to maintaining a positive att...itude. As they say, attitude is altitude. Plan fun activities with the people you love: Travel, dinner parties, pizza nights, bring a plate lunches. Think of things you might have promised yourself or someone else you’d do and do them (if still relevant). Take that trip, go camping, buy that thing, taste that new food, visit that person interstate. Extend your personal and professional contacts. Talk to and listen to people outside of your comfort zone. Take better care of your physical and emotional health. Say yes more often. Try something new. Stop being scared. Give up conflict. Don’t criticise others or treat anyone with contempt. If you can’t let them be. Move away from them. Hope this sparks some ideas. Dr Linda.

04.01.2022 This is getting hard. I want to give you a few tips for holding on through what’s turning out to be rougher seas than we imagined. Here they are: Get some humour. Watch something funny. Say/do something funny. ... Give some love. Cook something/do something for someone you love. Have some quiet time - start with just 1 minute of silence and work up from there. Pretty soon you’ll discover you’re meditating. Be grateful for what you have. Gratitude gives perspective. List what you’ve got to be grateful for. Just concentrate on today. Do something meaningful to you. Just you. I’ve been doing word puzzles. Do something you’ve never done. Today I played Scrabble for the first time in my life. Loved it. Be in the moment. This will end. When have we ever had a green light to just catch up on sleep before? This won’t go on forever. Keep in touch. Never before have we had so many ways to communicate. No excuses. Even a card or a letter. Share if you are struggling. Feel honoured if someone entrusts you who isn’t doing so well and hold them ... metaphorically if not physically. It will come back to you some day. Replicate reminders of past joy. Today I cooked hotdogs in bread dough like I’ve eaten in Thailand. Just brings back fun times. Get dressed for being seen even if you are the only one who sees you. The mirror doesn’t lie. I hope you find something here. Dr Linda

03.01.2022 Hello again. I’m sorry to have to advise that for at least the next few weeks, all appointments will be Telehealth. This has become necessary to protect both parties from COVID 19. In the meantime please try to keep safe and remind yourself that this is temporary. I believe people are tribal. Keep your tribe safe; physically and emotionally. Stay in touch. It takes seconds to send an email. Dr Linda

02.01.2022 Oh dear. This COVID 19 is getting very serious. From Sunday we will be wearing masks. Cancellations of events, silence where there once was noise, barren streets. Times are challenging. We must stay safe. Keep each other safe. Find joy in simple things; baking, doing puzzles, reading, FaceTime, and just soaking up some sunshine out on the porch, balcony or back yard. Try to keep positive. This will pass. We are operating as usual... just being COVID 19 safe. Phone (and mask to mask) consultations are available 03 5174 0399. Take care, Dr Linda.
