14.01.2022 We all know what the year was that just ended and we are all hoping that this year is one hell of an improvement on last year . But I need to take the time to publicly thank all of our clients, their families , support coordinators but most importantly I want to thank the people I work with from the bottom of my heart . I honestly believe I have the MOST incredible group of people as the Friends Who Care family not once during everything they had to endure this year did I h...ave a complaint... Not the spur of the moment 30 hour shift or working 60 hours a week when they wanted to work 15 .. Not the Covid testing and loss of income .. They understood what our families were going through and I believe gave the most amazing care to them. But the thing I need to thank each and everyone of the people I work with for is the support they have given me , the understanding when things maybe haven't run 100% smoothly .... The laughs in a pretty tough year. I only hope that they are as happy to be apart of the Friends family as I am to have them..... Oh and Kel , I love you and thank you for your amazing support , ideas and making me stop occasionally and look at what has been achieved in just a couple of years... Caroline , who for once had to push me and convince me I could do this ... not that either of us ever imagined what it has become .. Jodi , what can I say .... my P.A , E.A , HR ... my memory and my sounding board .. I know none of what has been achieved over the last two years could have happened without all of you... Two words just don't seem enough THANK YOU ALL xx

She loves getting out and meeting new people and has a mothering nature to her clients that need it. She also has a sister with MS so totally understands people need their independence but sometimes need a hand. Kerri has two adult children so is used to teenagers .... She loves to get out for lunches and dinners with friends or down to the beach Kerri is available for : Social & Community Access , Decluttering, House Cleaning and Meal Prep

Coonawarra Family Camp Friday 5 to Monday 8 March 2021 CYC The Island Family Camp Friday 23 to Sunday 25 April 2021 Family camps are the best! They are a great opportunity for the whole family of a child or young adult with disability to get away with other families for an affordable and fully catered weekend of fun, friendship, support and acceptance. 04.01.2022 Today my husband and I with our two guide dogs had another near miss with an electric car. We were crossing a side road and it came in off the main road and pas...sed very close in front of us. If it’d been a petrol or diesel engine, or if it’d had a sound emitter fitted, we’d have heard it, but, apart from the sound of the tyres on the road, it was virtually silent. I am a confident guide dog handler but I can honestly say that silent electric vehicles scare me. I fear that it will take serious injury to a blind person, or even worse, death, before any meaningful legislation is put into place. If it happens to me or someone that I care about, I’ll be in court and I won’t rest until we have justice. So please, if you drive an electric vehicle, switch on your sound emitter. After all, you wouldn’t drive at night without your lights on, it’s the same thing. Many people will like this post but please don’t. I ask anyone who would have hit the like button to please hit the share button instead and pass this far and wide. I fear for our lives and those of these two amazing dogs.
